Elliott was good all day and woke at 6.50am. He eat well and had no time outs.
Activities
We went to visit Kate and Anthony in the morning and he was really well behaved. They got out an old fisher price garage for him to play with and he really enjoyed it, but also enjoyed running around in the garden where he saw a Buzzard in the sky.
In the afternoon we drove back to Reading and did a lot of playing when we got back to the house, especially with cars on the car mat.

Balance bike
Sleep
Elliott woke at 6.50am.
He had a nap in the car on the way to a park for about 30 minutes after lunch.
He went to bed at 7.30pm and chatting to himself for about 20 minutes before going to sleep.
Food
Elliott had Special K for breakfast.
He had sausages, potato waffles and beans for lunch with some orange segments afterwards.
For tea he had some muffins and a yoghurt.
He had biscuits for a morning snack.
Toilet
He had no accidents today.
Naughtiness
He was really good all day.
Activities
We went to big Tescos and the park next to it in the morning. He did a lot of riding on his balance bike again which he requested. He was also very well behaved when we did a quick shop in Tescos.
After lunch we went to a park towards Oxford as it was quite hot and he was requesting going on his balance bike again so I wanted to go somewhere with lots of space that was really quiet. He had a lot of fun in this park.
When we got home we did about 3 minutes of French before I gave up and we watched some of Happy Feet instead!

Nursery funday
Sleep
Elliott woke at 7.30am.
He went to bed at 7.30pm and went to sleep quickly.
Food
Elliott had Special K for breakfast.
He had fish fingers, chips and beans in a pub for lunch with Granny.
For tea he had toast and a yoghurt. I tried some grapes as well but he refused vehemently.
He had a chocolate rice crispie cake for a morning snack at nursery funday.
Toilet
He had no accidents today.
Naughtiness
He was really good for most of the day, but towards the end of the day, after warning him a few times, I gave him a time out because he was calling me various silly names rather than Daddy. In some ways quite funny but I thought name calling isn't to be encouraged.
Activities
We went to the Nursery funday in the morning with Granny. This was great, although he was quite shy at first as I think he found it confusing seeing the staff in their own clothes rather than nursery uniform. There were various stalls, a bouncy castle (which he really enjoyed) and even a fire engine - although this had to go for a real emergency before we'd had a chance to see it properly. He also spent some time while we were there playing with Matthew, the other Elliott and Finn though they came and went at different times. It was really good fun though and I think he really enjoyed himself.
Then we went for lunch in a pub with Granny and he was really well behaved.
After lunch we went to a park for a while and we tried him with a new balance bike we've bought (as emailed at one stage). He got on brilliantly with the bike, but I think it might already be a bit late for it as he was totally comfortable lifting his legs up and cruising along for short distances on 2 wheels right from the start. However he did seem to really enjoy it, as well as some frisbee and normal playground apparatus.
After the park Granny went home and we did some colouring, reading and some alphabet cards. It was around this time when he became a bit silly - using silly names, saying no a lot, stamping about. However after the time out he really calmed down again and we did some playing with trains before bath time.

A day out with Thomas
Sleep
Elliott woke at 6.30am.
He had a nap in the car on the way home for about 40 minutes.
He went to bed at 7.30pm and went to sleep quickly.
Food
Elliott had Special K for breakfast.
He had ham sandwiches for lunch with some raisins and I tried to get him to have some orange segments but he wasn't keen.
For tea he had cheese on toast and a yoghurt.
He had some cake for a morning snack.
Toilet
He had no accidents today and a good poo with some attempted wiping himself.
Naughtiness
He was really good all day.
Activities
We went to the Watercress Line day out with Thomas today with Dave, Jo, Alice and Fi. We had a brilliant day with lots of riding on different steam trains and also children's entertainer, playgrounds, colouring, face painting (though Elliott didn't want to join in), transfer tattoo (he had James on his arm) and lots of grown ups dressed up as Thomas characters (the fat controller, a police man, etc).
He was really well behaved all day and also had lots of fun. He got on really well with Alice and Fi and when we were watching the children's entertainer he went up to the front and joined in with the actions, even though he looked a little shy at first.
The only downside of the day was that there was a bouncy castle slide that he wanted to have a go on, but when he got to the top of the slide he was a bit scared. I couldn't go up to help because of insurance rules so in the end the man running it went up and helped him climb back down the stair side. He seemed to take it in his stride though and I gave him lots of support and cuddles (which he shrugged off quite quickly and just started running around again). The slide was for ages 3 to 11 and I was a bit dubious as to whether he would like it while we were queuing, but he did ask if he could have a go and he seemed quite keen on the idea until he got up the stairs.
Other than that though an absolutely brilliant day.

Rio
Sleep
Elliott woke at 7am.
He had a nap in the car on the way home for about an hour and a half.
He went to bed at 7.50pm, a bit later than ideal due to leaving Dave and Lucy's a little late, but he went straight to sleep without any talking or crooning at all.
Food
Elliott had Special K for breakfast.
He had half a jam sandwich, some raisins and some orange jelly for lunch in a kid's deal at BHS (I hid the wotsits from him and took them home for another day because of cinema snack earlier). But he requested and had a small bowl of Special K about an hour later as well after we got home.
For tea he had plain pizza with a few chips and some peas (we did 7) at Dave and Lucy's with Milly and Elsie.
He had some popcorn in the cinema during the morning for a snack (a special small "kids club" size that he shared with me) and half a clementine in the afternoon for a snack.
Toilet
He had no accidents today and a very smooth poo with some attempted wiping himself.
Naughtiness
He was really good for most of the day. We had lunch in BHS in town and he asked for a jam sandwich but then proceeded not to eat it for quite a while saying he didn't like it. In the end I he ate half of it after I told him I wouldn't let him have his Lightning McQueen toy back all day unless he ate half of it. Weirdly I think he did like it when he started eating it (and I've seen him eat jam sandwiches before) but I think it turned into a bit of a battle of wills so I only tried a little to encourage the second half because I didn't want to get stuck in a cycle of reasoning for another 20 minutes or so.
Activities
In the morning after normal routine and some playing we went to the Vue cinema for kid's club showing of Rio. This was really good. The price was really good value (£3.90 for both of us) and they even did a snack deal of fruit shute and small box of popcorn for only £1.50. I spent most of the film watching him watching the film and he seemed transfixed for most of it. It was about 2 hours long and we went to the toilet after about an hour. When we got back he was a little restless for about a quarter of an hour (and it was also quite noisy in there at times), but he soon got back into it with some encouragement and questions about what had happened and what was happening. It was a decent film (maybe a little over long considering it's aimed at children), but lots of funny bits and some good clean action. But it was no Toy Story / Cars / Madagascar so it was good to see he was still really engaged by the experience.
After the film we went for lunch in BHS and had a wander around a few shops and he was really good and understood we weren't going to be "borrowing" any toys today, just looking. He didn't throw any strops or get disappointed when it was time to move on and he was really well behaved when he looked at the toys (he asked if he could hold some, but was always careful and always understood we had to put them back but maybe one day would get one as a present for Christmas / birthday / if he was good).
After we got home he was quite tired from walking I think (I had to do some "up" while we were out) so we watched a Thomas and played with some cars (and he had some Special K).
Then we went to Lucy and Dave's for tea with Milly and Elsie and also some playing in the garden which was really good, and he was really polite and played really well with Milly. Plus, even though he hasn't seen them for a while, he wasn't shy at all.
On the way to Lucy and Dave's we also stopped at Wokingham Tescos for a quick bit of shopping (I needed some milk so picked up a few other things). He was brilliant aroudn the supermarket and we pushed the trolley around together which was good fun and he responded really well to instructions (e.g. "lets park it over there for a minute").
Unfortunately we had such a good time at Dave and Lucy's that time ran away a little, so when we got back it was quite a quick bed time routine, but again he responded really well to the urgency and had a quick bath without complaint or stalling with parking cars, etc. So in the end we got to bed time story at 7.30pm which was good for tomorrow I think.
