Super slide

General

Elliott was good all day today. Some talk of new brother / sister but as you said due to Christmas play songs I think he might well be a bit confused as there was talk of you having Jesus in your tummy!

Activities

In the morning we went shopping.

In the afernoon we went to Dinton and then another park near Winnersh on the way to tea with Dave and Milly. This park had a brilliant slide, little spiraled that he really enjoyed. Tea with Milly and Dave was also a lot of fun.

Lots of singing again today.

Torch

General

Elliott had a naughty morning today after breakfast and so had a time out for repeatedly not listening and not getting dressed. He was very stubborn during this time out and it took a long time. Other than that though he was good all day and his voice is almost back to normal. A few coughs and sneezes but not too bad.

Activities

We shopping in Reading in the morning and looked at toys for Christmas and bought a torch for Gruffalo hunting. We also did more jigsaws, some train tracking and a small bit of French, though he was not keen.

After lunch we did some Nativity Play singing and then went to Goring where we walked a little up the Thames Path with the torch hunting for Gruffalos.

Gruffalo hunting

General

Elliott was good all day today apart from being a bit reluctant to eat sausages at Dave and Jo's house. He was also sick soon after he woke up this morning, but had no temperature and was fine after this for the rest of the day.

Activities

We went scootering and shopping in the morning as well as watching some Justin's House, doing some jigsaw puzzles and doing some Nativity Play singing.

After lunch we went to visit Dave, Jo, Alice and Fi and Elliott packed all his cars into his bag to show Alice and Fi - plus we took the drum, guitar and recorder. We had lots of fun visiting and went for a walk in the woods behind the house with torches to go Gruffalo hunting. We didn't see any Gruffalos but we did see his chair! He played really nicely with Alice and Fi and was just a little reluctant with eating his sausage and mash, but we had already had pasta for lunch as I wasn't expecting to get fed on our visit!

Mince pie experiment

General

Elliott was good all day today and went to bed nicely and without fuss at lights out. I think his voice became a little less croaky as the day went on.

Activities

We went to The Look Out in the afternoon and played outside and inside with the exhibits. We also tried a mince pie, though he didn't really like it after taking one very enthusiastic bite - his face went form expecting cake I think to looking like he was eating worms.

We also did some singing along to the Christmas Play tunes and some relaxed play at home after getting back.

Toad Hall

General

Elliott was good all day today.

Activities

In the morning we went swimming which was really good fun and he swam for ages.

In the afernoon we went to Henley where we visited Toad Hall Garden Centre. They had a really nice Santa's grotto all set up there already (though no Santa apart from weekends) so we had a look round and a look at lots of Christmas things (hats, presents, etc).

We also did some singing along to play music and a small bit of French.

Baby Elizabeth

General

Elliott was good all day today again apart from the end of the day when he wouldn't put his pjamas on even after a chat, so we had a time out. Then he wouldn't go up after his milk so he went to bed with no story. He woke around 7am again though.

Activities

In the morning we went out for coffee and then scootering. We also did some singing along to the new Christmas Play tunes CD - he was brilliant and knew loads of the words and his singing was the cutest thing ever - he was a bit bashful, but was pretty good.

In the afternoon we went to visit one of Granny's friends whose daughter had just had a baby called Elizabeth. He was really good around her.

Harry and George

General

Elliott was good all day today again today apart from an incident over not wanting to eat yoghurt before he eat cake in which I stood firm and eventually he backed down. Again he woke at around 7.00am.

Activities

In the morning we went to Hengitsbury Head with Granny. Although a little cold it was really nice weather and sunny and he charged around on his balance bike - even using it on the beech and in the shallows. We had quite a long walk and he did really well.

In the afternoon we went to visit Russ and Hayley Higgins who were looking after Harry and they played together well. It was quite active play - lots of bouncing, jumping, footballing and hide and seek and at times Harry was quite "boisterous", but Elliott took it all in his stride and seemed to have a lot of fun (he was upset when it was time to go). Then we went on to visit Jules and Emma Tranter and he played with George nicely. However as George is a bit younger it wasn't as interactive as earlier - but Elliott was very patient and gentle. And by leaving time they had begun to interact pretty well.

Fireworks

General

Elliott was good all day today and woke at 6.50am which was good.

Activities

In the morning we went to Salisbury and had coffee and did some shopping.

In the afternoon we met up with Charlie Sladen and Peter Sladen and went to watch Salisbury City play against Dartford in the seats. This was good fun - we wrapped up warm, took some sweets and toys and both boys watched quite a bit of the football. Elliott became quite bored with about 10 minutes left so we had a look around the ground, but he did very well considering it wasn't all that exciting anyway. He also hilariously spent the first half shouting "come on whites" every so often, but in the second switched allegiance to "come on reds" (Dartford).

After the game we went to the Sladens for some fireworks and a bit of play. He reacted really well to the fireworks and watched them outside with Poppy and Charlie. They were quite low key and quiet in comparison to big displays, but they still made some bangs and fizzled away.
