Granny's birthday

General

Elliott was very good today. He got a bit upset after football as he wasn't as involved in the game overall as he'd like to be. We talked about how he did really well when he did get the ball and how it's a team game and he was happier. We also talked about how he shouldn't stop passing the ball because other people don't as his passing is so good.

Activities

In the morning he carried on building his Tardis in Lego ready to use it for filming an animation. Then it was time for football. Granny and Grandpa and Andrea came to watch and Panthers had a great game again and won 6-0. Elliott played the whole game (they all did as there were no substitutes). In the first half he played at the back and didn't have much to do, but he did some good tackles and some good passing. Then in the second half he played left wing for a while before he got moved back again and then he finished the game up front and had his first shot at goal just as the final whistle went. It was another good team performance with some good passing and football played and after being upset he hadn't had more passing to him Elliott was happy with the game. After football we headed to Woodley where we had lunch at Cozze for Granny's birthday. He had garlic bread, a pepporoni pizza and chocolate fudge pudding.

After lunch we went home and Elliott showed Granny and Grandpa The Peace Child DVD. Then he played the Clarinet and showed them his speaker as well. Then it was time for Granny and Grandpa to go home and we watched some of the FA Cup before having ham sandwiches for tea. After tea he had his bath, bed time squash, read some of his Doctor Who book and then brushed his teeth. Then we watched Doctor Who before it was time for bed.

Kids 'n' Action

General

Elliott was good after I picked him up following hockey. When I picked him up Miss Woods had a quick word to say he'd been upset quite a few times during the day over things he wouldn't normally be upset by, so we had a chat and he seemed to cheer up and said hockey and Clarinet had both been really enjoyable.

Activities

After hockey club we went to Costa Coffee at Showcase for a drink and snack before I took him to Kids 'n' Action for Sairam's birthday party. When I came to collect him they were all having a great time (Isaac, Josh and Kian were all there) and he said he'd really enjoyed himself. When we got home he had a very quick bath before researching Viking Longships for his home learning, brushing his teeth, reading some of his Star Wars "A New Hope" book and going to sleep.

After hockey club we went to swimming and got plasters from reception so he could go in the pool. After swimming he had a shower and we headed home where he had ham sandwiches and toast for tea before watching some Doctor Who on the iPad. Then he had his bed time squash, brushed his teeth and read more of his Rogue One book before bed time.

Afterwards Louise gathered them all together and made quite a big point of giving Elliott his manager's player of the year trophy after he missed football awards yesterday for the hockey. Elliott seemed very happy and also got a couple of other trophies, one for playing in the league and a special goodbye trophy from Sally. After football we went home and he had a bath and brushed his teeth before reading more of his Rogue One book before it was time to go to sleep.

Hollie Webb

General

Elliott was mainly good today. He did get a bit upset when he was doing his homework as I asked him not to rush it (he was getting things wrong because he was rushing) and that led to a discussion about how taking longer to get it right first time saves time in the end.

Activities

In the morning we got up early to go the hockey training session with Hollie Webb. Everyone was split in to 3 groups and Elliott was in the middle group with some of the really good Under 10s and some Under 12s. For the first session they practiced defence against attack with one of the coachs, then it was his groups turn to be coached by Hollie Webb and she showed them how to use a reverse hook, take penalty flicks and penalty shuffles. She also shoed them her gold medal and she signed Elliott's hockey stick:

After the session with Hollie Webb they then had a session of a game where dribbling the ball in to the end zone was a goal. He ran around a lot and did some great defending. After hockey we went home and he did his Maths homework (estimating sums by rounding numbers up to the closest 10 before then doing the sum properly to see what the real answer was). He began by rushing through the sums and not concentrating to get it over with, so we had a chat about not rushing and focusing and he got a bit upset. I explained to him I was only saying that because I knew he could do the sums and if I thought they were too hard for him I wouldn't be challenging him to take longer. However after he'd had a break and went back to the sums he spent longer and did them really well. After his homework we had ham and cheese rolls for lunch.

After lunch he practiced his Clarinet and played lots of songs to me and then we went to Hurst to The Elephant and Castle pub where we met up with John Robertson and some of his friends. There were lots of children there and Elliott quickly made friends and played in the garden. He also bought his big Thunderbird 2 with him which was a hit. After we'd been in the pub for a while we headed home and he watched some Doctor Who on his iPad before having mild curry for tea. After tea he had his bath, bed time squash, brushed his teeth and read some of his Rogue One book before going to sleep.

Book report

General

Elliott was really good today.

Activities

In the morning we went to football against Eldon Celtic. I thought he played really well at the beginning when he was in defence but he said after he was substituted he had been off for so long he found it difficult to get back in to the game. After the game we headed to Twyford for lunch where he had a ham and cheese toastie.

After lunch we went home and Elliott did his home learning - writing a book report about his Doctor Who 2017 annual. After he'd finished his book report he practiced his Clarinet and then he had a bath. After his bath we watched some of Night at the Museum together and then he went out on to the field outside with his scooter and ended up playing football with a boy called Sean who was also playing on the field. After football he came in for Pasta Burro for tea and then it was time to watch Doctor Who which we both enjoyed. After Doctor Who he got ready for bed, brushed his teeth and read some more of his Doctor Who book quickly before it was time to go to sleep.

Wokingham Summer Fayre

General

Elliott was good today. He did get a ball in the face during football training and was a little silly at different points, but so were the others and in general he listened to Louise.

Activities

In the morning we finished off his home learning (research about Wolves), he did a drawing of the Tardis, he practiced his Clarinet and then we flew the drone. He also read some of his Doctor Who Annual 2017 and played with his Doctor Who toys and Lego. he had sausages, waffles and broccoli for lunch and ate his broccoli with no fuss at all.

After lunch we went to the Wokingham Summer Fayre with Andrea's Dad and met up with Harry, Jack and Graham Jenkins there. We played mini golf, had a go at kicking football through targets in soccerama, took part in some tombolas, watched some ferret racing and he used some of his pocket money to buy a fidget spinner from a stall that had lots of fidget spinners. After the Fayre we headed back to Andrea's Dad's house for a bit before heading home for ham sandwiches for tea. After tea it was time for football training. Only four Panthers came (Alfie, Toby, Josh and Elliott) but the session was good and Louise had them practicing throws (so they can all take them during a game), finding space so the person with the ball can pass to them (and encouraging players with the ball to pass) and penalties. They all lost concentration at different points and at one point Elliott got hit in the face by the ball which upset him, but overall it was a good session. After we got home it was time for a quick bath, then he brushed his teeth and quickly read some more of his Doctor Who book.
