Easter Egg Hunt

General

Elliott was really good after school today.

Activities

After school Elliott joined in with the Parent's Association Easter Egg Hunt (which I helped with) and got a Mars Easter Egg. Once we'd helped pack up we went to ASDA where I picked up some shopping and we had tea (Elliott had a ham sandwich, and some crisps with a capri sun). Then we headed home and he played with his fingerboards for a while before we watched Blue Peter. After Blue Peter he had his bath and then read more of George's Secret Key To The Universe before it was time to go to sleep.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid

General

Elliott was very good after school today and was pleased to see the picture of his new fingerboarding kit.

Activities

After school we went home and had some tea and Elliott had ham sandwiches. Then it was time for his swimming lesson which went well and he had a shower afterwards at the Leisure Centre. After swimming we went home and he read lots of his Diary of a Wimpy Kid book and did some fingerboarding. Then he practiced his Clarinet, cleaned his teeth and read even more of his Diary of a Wimpy Kid book before it was time for sleep.

Coach's Hockey Player of the Season

General

Elliott was very good today.

Activities

In the morning it was the last hockey practice of the season. This year they had a tournament where parents joined in and played in teams with the children. Elliott's team won all of their games and he had Noah, Max and Tony Simpson in his team as well as Gareth's Dad and Alex (so quite strong). When he played the team I was in we almost held them to a 0-0 draw but right at the end Elliott scored a winner flicking the ball over my stick to score as I'd run back in to the goal. He was happy about this. After the tournament (which was enjoyable) Tony told everyone how well the boys team had done this year and gave out the awards and he gave Elliott the Coach's Player of the Season award which was brilliant and Elliott was very pleased. Gareth won the Player of the Season award and Lucas Sipson won Most Improved Player of the Season:

After hockey we went to Costa Coffee for lunch and Elliott had a ham and cheese panini.

After lunch, as it was finally dry, we went to St Crispins skatepark and Bracknell skatepark and Elliott practiced on his scooter and skateboard. He was getting really good with his scooter and did some 180 turns on ramps without putting his feet on the ground. Once we got home after the skateparks he practiced skateboarding outside again for a little while longer before having a bath and getting changed in to his pyjamas. Then we watched the end of Guardians of the Galaxy and we had cheese on toast for tea. After tea he practiced his Clarinet and then read more of his school book before going to sleep.

Early Man

General

Elliott was good today. He was disappointed at times that the rain meant we couldn't go to the skatepark but he managed to stop that disappointment from growing in to something really disruptive.

Activities

In the morning, because it was raining, we went to Showcase cinema to watch Early Man instead of going to the skatepark. The film was good and we both enjoyed the trip. After the film we headed home and had ham sandwiches for lunch.

After lunch we watched the first part of Guardians of the Galaxy on the television and then, as the rain had eased, Elliott rode his bike and practiced on his penny board skateboard. Then he practiced his Clarinet and did his Study Ladder Maths homework. We had spaghetti bolognese for tea and watched Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway while we ate (we watched a recording of last week's show)/ After tea he brushed his teeth and read for a while before going to sleep (we decided to save his bath for tomorrow after hockey practice).

And and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway

General

Elliott was very good after school today.

Activities

After school we went straight to swimming and he did well in his stage 6 swimming lesson. After he'd showered and got changed practiced skateboarding in Tescos car park again(at the back where there were no cars) and seemed pleased with his progress again. When we got home he had ham rolls for tea, played with his fingerboards and then we watched a Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway so we could think of Ant as he goes through tought times. Then he brushed his teeth, read some of his Doctor Who book as he'd forgotten his school book and went to sleep.

Swimming Stage 6

General

Elliott was really good after school today. He had been upset by Albie at lunchtime when they were playing football but we talked about what to do when people say things that upset him again (agreeing with them and not showing he's upset) and he stopped himself from getting upset again.

Activities

After school we went to swimming and he had his first stage 6 lesson which seemed to go well. After he'd showered and got changed we did some shopping in Tescos and he practiced skateboarding in Tescos car park (at the back where there were no cars) and he made some real progress and was pleased. After we got home he had ham sandwiches for tea, played with his fingerboards and then brushed his teeth, got ready for bed and read more of The Considine Curse before it was time to go to sleep.

After we got back he played with his fingerboards for a while and then had a bath, brushed his teeth and read his The Considine Curse school book before going to sleep.

WASMA concert

General

Elliott was really good today.

Activities

After breakfast Elliott did some quick Clarinet practice and played with his finger boards before we headed off to hockey. He played well in hockey practice although some of the team were missing so they did quite a lot of basics with the smaller boys. We left hockey slightly early to get to WASMA rehearsals, which he was a little frustrated by, but he did get changed and get to WASMA rehearsal on time.

The actual WASMA concert was good I thought and I liked the positive messages about human friendship and co-operation this year. After the concert I collected him and he said he’d earned a values badge from Miss Savage for his patience and good beahaviour during the rehearsals and he was going to choose a respect badge. He also said he was sure that it was a good time to leave choir now and I reinforced that I didn’t mind (and I actually think he’s right that it’s a good time as he’s done the same concerts some years in a row now). Because the concert finished so late after we got home he just brushed his teeth, got ready for bed and read his The Constitine Curse school book for 10 minutes to unwind before going to sleep.

Black Panther

General

Elliott was good today. He was disappointed it was to wet to do any real scootering or skateboarding at Sol Joel skatepark though.

Activities

After breakfast Elliott practiced his Clarinet and then we headed to Sol Joel skatepark. It was too wet to use the scooter or skateboard so we took the opportunity to try out the remote control jeep he got for his birthday and that was good fun for us both. After the skatepark we headed to The Elephant and Castle pub in Twyford where he had margherita pizza and chips for lunch.

After lunch we went home and he practiced on his scooter for a while because the concrete had finally dried out. Then we went to the Odeon in Bracknell where we met up with my friend Angus Walker and watched Black Panther. He really enjoyed Black Panther and it was good and a little different to most Marvel films. During the film he had a hot dog for tea. After the film we headed home and he had a ham sandwich for tea as he was still hungry and then he had a bath, brushed his teeth and read more of his The Considine Curse school book before going to sleep.

Dentist

General

Elliott was very good after school today and was in good spirits.

Activities

We went straight from school to the Dentist where he had his annual check up. The Dentist was really pleased with his teeth and how his brushing had improved since his last visit. She did refer him to the Orthodontist to check "his bite" but said even if braces were advised he hadn't lost all his baby teeth yet so it was just to see early. After the Dentist we went to The Hope and Anchor in Wokingham for a work leaving do to say hello and he had a lot of fun showing the Developers his fingerboarding. Then we headed home via ASDA where he bought another fingerboard with some of his birthday money as they're now on offer and then Subway for tea where he had ham, pepperoni and salami. After we got home he practiced his Clarinet, had his bath, brushed his teeth and read more of The Considine Curse school book before it was time to go to sleep.

Orchestra at the Hexagon

General

Elliott was really good after school today and did his thank you cards with no complainig at all. He also did a lot of helpful things in a drive to become more independent which I am enjoying. He enjoyed his school trip to see the orchestra today at the Hexagon and had his ticket with him when he came home.

Activities

After picking him up from hockey club we didn't go to swimming this week as the traffic was really bad in every direction. We stopped at ASDA on the way home and he bought some more fingerboards with half of his remaining birthday money and then we headed home. When we got home he wrote his thank you cards for birthday presents before playing with his new fingerboards for a while. Then he had ham sandwiches for tea and it was time for bath, teeth brushing and reading more of his The Considine Curse school book.
