Rise Of The Guardians

General

Elliott was really good again today, although he did get a bit restless in Pizza Hut at lunchtime.

Activities

In the morning we went to the cinema to see Rise Of The Guardians. Elliott was quite in favour of this as there was a chance Harry Higgins or Charlie Sladen were going to join us (or both). In the end though neither did so he was a bit more apprehensive due to it being the cinema. However we braved it and I think he enjoyed quite a lot of the film. Afterwards he didn't seem sure one way or the other but he did describe lots of what happened to Granny when we met up with her for a Pizza Hut buffet lunch. We also went for a hair cut imbetween the cinema and lunch and he was very well behaved while his hair was cut.

After lunch we drove back to Wokingham and had a lazy time after we got home. We also built a new Ninjago lego robot he bought with his pocket money while we were in Salisbury that he was very excited about.

Hot Shot

General

Elliott was good again today, the only bit of upset was when he stubbed his toe.

Activities

It was raining in the morning so we did some more reading practice and then went shopping with Granny. While we were shopping Granny bought Elliott a new transformer - Hot Shot.

We had pizza for lunch and after lunch we went out but as it was still raining we just went for coffee / chocolate milk. For tea we had pancakes which Elliott helped to make.

Hengistbury Head

General

Elliott was good again today.

Activities

In the morning after a lazy breakfast we did some reading practice again and he did brilliantly. After that we went to Hengistbury Head with Granny where we had a picnic lunch. We had a long walk and Elliott scootered while we walked.

After we got home we played with my old Starguards and Aliens toys and for tea it was chicken nuggets.

The Space Station

General

Elliott was really good again today, although he got a bit upset at one stage at soft play as Harry Higgins wanted to play "Transformer Speedboats" and he only wanted to play "Transformers", but he shook off the upset quickly.

Activities

In the morning we had a lazy time again, and also did some reading. Andrea joined us for lunch and we went to The Wheatsheaf in Woodford for Granny's birthday meal. He had macaroni cheese and eat loads. He was really good during the meal and drew a picture of lots of Transformers with some felt tips and paper they provided.

After lunch Grandpa went home (he is just back from Hong Kong) and the rest of us went to Durrington to visit the Matt, Lara, Harry and Bertie Higgins. Elliott played with Harry and Bertie for a while and then Lara went off to see her Dad and the rest of us went to The Space Station - a soft play place in Lark Hill. Soft play was not very busy which was great and the boys did a lot of running around with only a few moments between them.

Granny's birthday

General

Elliott was really good again today.

Activities

In the morning we had a lazy time watching some television, listening to some music and playing with toys. And saying Happy Birthday to Granny. Elliott started to really get in to The Crazy Frog and was doing some Crazy Frog dancing. He sang along with some of the songs (Daydream Believer, Move Your Arms Like Henry and Transformers Theme Tune). He had flipper dippers and beans for lunch.

After lunch we went to Wilton House with Granny to meet up with Jules and George Trantner and play on the adventure playground there. The adventure playground there was really good and had some high slides. Elliott was very adventurous. When we got back we had tea and birthday cake with Granny.

Laverstock farm family fun day

General

Elliott was really good.

Activities

In the morning we went to visit the Sladens. Elliott had a lot of fun playing with Charlie, Poppy and Alice. He did some "spying for crystals" with Charlie and lots of transformers. We also all went in to the garden where we played some football and also set up an obstacle course.

After lunch we went to a family fun day at Laverstock farm where we bumped into Dan, Jo, Martha and Noah Higgins and met up with the Sladens again. This was good fun with bands playing outside, ome pigs, chickens and a goat and a bouncey castle which was a hit. After we got back we had a Roast Lamb tea that Elliott ate really well, although he did pass on the vegetables.

Cody's party

General

Elliott was good for all of today.

Activities

In the morning we had a lazy time watching toy reviews, playing with Transformers and wrapping Cody's present and writing in his card.

After lunch I took him to Cody's party. When I picked him up he said he'd had a really fun time and that he was now liking his pirate costume. They played lots of games, bounced on a trampoline, knocked down sweets from a pinata and even had Old MacDonalds. He seemed a bit put out I was the last to collect him but I saw cars driving off just as I arrived so I don't think I was a lot later than the other parents. He also said he'd hurt himself 3 times during the party, but just normal rough and tumble. After the party we drove down to Downton and he enjoyed exploring his pirate party bag. When we got to Granny's he had a bacon sandwich for tea.

Megatron

General

Elliott was good tonight after school.

Activities

We went shopping after school for Cody's card and present (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle lego). We also bought a transformer with his pocket money - Megatron.

Buzz Lightyear

General

Elliott was good tonight, although he did get a bit upset about having to dress as a pirate for Cody's party, but hopefully this was just because it was getting late and he was tired from cycling.

Activities

We went to the after school cycling club at Palmer Park again. He did really well, and cycled for a few metres on his own a couple of times. He's definitely getting there. We also tried on a new Buzz Lightyear costume won from the raffle (as well as the pirate costume and a snow white costume which I'm going to give to Natalie for Isla). He's gone to sleep in this so I think it was a hit.

Lego spaceship

General

Elliott was very good tonight.

Activities

We had a fun evening making a lego spaceship and pasta with bacon for tea.

Clone Trooper

General

Elliott was good for all of today. Unfortunately he did receive a bump to the nose in the bathroom at bath time when he fell over, which he was quite upset about, but we put ice on his nose and it's better.

Activities

We went to football in the morning. Harry Jenkins was there and wasn't too keen on playing which he found a distraction, but after Harry went for a walk he joined in and had a lot of fun. He did really well in one of the exercises and is getting really good in the games. After the football we went to the Hawkedon School car boot sale (where Charlie and Adam also co-incidentally dropped by on way back from football). We picked up a very cheap Happy Meal transformer toy and a very cheap Star Wars Clone Trooper talking helmet (which is great and I'm enjoying).

Then we went to lunch at Prezzos with Andrea's parents and her brother and company as it was her Mum's birthday meal. He was really good for the meal and played with Harry and Jack very nicely. He had garlic bread and cheese pizza and eat really well. After lunch we all went back to Andrea's parents house where he played with Harry and had a lot of fun, including being a Clone Trooper with his new helmet. After we got back we practiced writing "robots in disguise" and he did very well and I made sure I told him he had a lot. Hopefully this will help with his confidence.

Monkey Mates

General

Elliott was really good for all of today.

Activities

In the morning we did the food shopping we didn't manage the night before and he was really good. We did look at toys but he knew we weren't going to buy one.

In the afternoon we went to Monkey Mates and had a lazy time playing with and watching Transformers. .

Friday 10 May 2013

Old MacDonalds

General

Elliott unfortunately had a really big strop after school because we were going to go shopping and not buy a toy - we spent this week's pocket money at the fair. In the end we didn't shop and went home and he calmed down and explained that he'd been silly. I'm trying to get out of the cycle of always buying a toy every week and spending pocket money on other things, but suspect it will take a while to sink in. Also Miss Bisco had a word after school about his writing, saying that he's not feeling as confident as some of the others and if we can do some practice with him that'll be good. She also said his reading is coming along really well so that's good.

Activities

After the strop and calming down we went to McDonalds for tea to change the scene and for a bit of a pick me up after he was happier (the strop was really big). This was fun for both of us.

Wokingham May Fair

General

Elliott was good for most of today but there were a few moments during the fair. Fortunately these passed quickly.

Activities

We went to Wokingham May Fair for the whole day. In the morning we met up with Dave, Alice and Fi and then bumped into Charlie and Isla too. We went on various rides and stalls and had fun and Elliott was really pleased to see Charlie. After they'd all left we had a picnic lunch and he had some scotch eggs as part of this!

After lunch Elliott got his face painted like Spiderman and then we met up with Harry and Jack Jenkins. We all went on some more rides (mainly bouncy castles again) and played some football. After we got home and had tea I noticed a slight rash on Elliott's lower back and bottom, but this disappeared after he was dry.

Milly's present

General

Elliott was was good for most of the evening but he did refuse his tea (mild chili with rice). In the end he ate the rice, but not before he'd done some shouting. He went to his bedroom for shouting but came out quickly much calmer and apologised. In his school work was a 3 pigs picture where he'd done some writing and Miss Biscoe had written that he found it tricky to sound out words and write down the letters.

Activities

We popped into Tescos on the way home to buy a card and present for Milly's birthday party at the weekend. We also practiced cycling building on getting going from a standing start. He's definitely getting there and afterwards we did some scootering.
