Gymnasitcs

General

Elliott was good for most of the day, however towards the end he got very upset in the park because he didn't want a pic-nic, then when we left to have food at Andrea's flat instead he decided he did want a pic-nic after all, but I wouldn't let him go back as he'd made a fuss about not having a pic-nic shortly before. He did calm down and agreed he'd been silly in the end.

Activities

In the morning we drove to the park in Fordingbridge with Granny and Grandpa and had some coffee.

After lunch we travelled back to Wokingham where we went to the park for some playing with Andrea and a pic-nic tea. Unfortunately he got silly about whether he wanted an outside pic-nic or not, but in the end we went back to Andrea's flat and had our sandwiches there and he enjoyed himself watching Olympic Gymnastics and then doing some Gymnastics of his own!

Visiting Charlie

General

Elliott was good for all the day, though by the end of the day he was visibly tired. However he went to bed quickly and well.

Activities

In the morning we drove to Salisbury and met Granny and Grandpa for a pub lunch. Elliott had Chicken Goujons, chips and beans which he eat very well.

After lunch we visited the Sladens where Elliott was very well behaved and played indoors and outdoors with Charlie and Poppy. He played mainly with cars indoors and we played some cricket outdoors.

Lazy morning

General

Elliott was good for all of today.

Activities

In the morning we had a lazy time and played with cars and plasticine. Even though it was nice weather outside he preferred to stay indoors and relax.

In the afternoon we went to Kings Meadow and did some scootering and playing on the play equipment where he was very sociable with lots of other children.

Truck Festival 2012

General

Elliott was a little naughty before we left for Truck at Andrea's flat. He took his socks off and wouldn't put them back on so we had a time out that lasted for quite a long time. Eventually he gave in though, said sorry, did as he was told and he was really good from then on.

Activities

In the morning we went to Andrea's flat and then on to Truck Festival where we already had 2 tents set up - one for me and Elliott and one for Andrea. We had lunch by the tents and he seemed very interested and excited by the tents and the Festival atmosphere.

After lunch we wandered into the actual Festival fields. We started in the field with kids activities where there was a tent from the Oxford Playhouse. There was a play on in there called "Bathtime" in which two men in pyjamas bascially messed around a lot. He really found that funny and there is a You Tube clip -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udBo6f-1vPo&feature=g-uplThen we checked out the kids activity area with lots of juggling, drawing, plasticine, etc. I got my face painted as a pirate there in an attempt to encourage him to have his face painted but he wasn't interested still - though he called me Captain Hook for the rest of the day! Next we went into the main field of the Festival and watched some bands on a pic-nic blanket from the back. He quite enjoyed this and was soon running around with lots of other children who were there and climbing all over a sculpture of a pile of CDs. Imbetween all this we also went back to our tents a few times. Finally we went back to the tents to go to sleep and he was quite excited about sleeping in his tent. He was really well behaved though and I think really enjoyed himself and by the end didn't even seem too bothered by the inevitable crowds of people.

Outburst

General

Elliott was a little naughty after lunch today and was using bad behaviour (shouting and stropping) to try and get his own way. However he had a time out and acknowledged being silly wasn't the right way to get what he wanted (which was to go outside on his balance bike when it was raining and lunch was only 10 minutes away).

Activities

In the morning we went to Fordingbridge with Granny and had some coffee and looked at a toy shop there. Unfortunately it started raining so we couldn't go to the park, but he was really well behaved until we got back, when he got upset he couldn't go outside.

Then after lunch we went to Outburst soft play with Granny which was really good fun and again he was really sociable with a number of other little people.

Roast lunch

General

Elliott was good today, although a little shy over lunch so a little encouraging was needed to get him eating.

Activities

In the morning we travelled down to Granny and Grandpas and had a lamb roast lunch with them and Grandpa's friends Oville ( from Germany) and Joyce (from Hong Kong). He was a little shy at first but soon warmed up.

Then after lunch we went to the park and he was really sociable with a little boy called Benjamin who was in a Lightning McQueen t-shirt. He even shared his new Holly Shiftwell with Benjamin really nicely.

Bemerton School Fete

General

Elliott was mostly good for all of today, but at the Fete occasionally let himself be dragged around rather than walking properly.

Activities

In the morning we bought some wellies and went for elevenses with Granny before picking up Andrea from the train station.

In the afternoon we went to the Bemerton School Fete which was quite good fun, but unfortunately it was raining so mainly indoors. I think Elliott found this a little disappointing (lack of bouncy castle, etc), but we still had some fun and he did have a nice cake.

Doing music

General

Elliott was a little testy at times again this morning but after school visit much better behaved and he went to sleep really well.

Activities

In the morning we made some peg puppets from a kit. He was really good for this, although his concentration waned a little before we were finished. We also did some writing practice and lots of playing.

Then after school we went to the park briefly before the rain started and then came back and he requested we "did music". So he banged a drum while I strummed guitar which was really good fun. We also watched some Sonic, played some Sonic and played more with soldiers.

Then after lunch we went shopping in Reading and for tea and biscuits with Granny.
