Elliott was really good after school today until after his bath when he got upset because I wouldn't let him play Minecraft between bath and bed. I talked to him calmly and explained why a few times (school nights before bed time are for getting reading and getting ready for sleep) and left him saying when he'd calmed down and put his pyjamas on to come and find me and we'd read his Minecraft book together. And after a few minutes of still being upset he calmed down pretty quickly and apologised before ending up doing his homework and we read his Minecraft book together.
Activities
After school it was the last swimming lesson of term and they joined up the classes and all had fun on floats and inflatables. After we got home he watched some Officially Amazing and played Minecraft on the iPhone before toast with cheese for tea. Then it was bath time and some upset before he did his homework very independently and really well and we read his Minecraft book.

Tea with Charlie
General
Elliott was pretty good after I picked him up from Charlie's house, but he was also quite excitable and a little tired I think.
Activities
After school Elliott went to Charlie's house for tea instead of swimming because of my last minute work meeting which was a shame about swimming. But when I went to pick him up he was having a great time playing Twister with Charlie and Adam who was also there. While he was there he had chicken goujons for tea and also he tried a carrot but told me he didn't like it. After we got home we watched some Junior Bake Off and played some Minecraft before bath time. After his bath he read some of his Lego magazine and then it was bed time.

Medal for Street Dancing
General
Elliott was really good after school today until bath time when he got a little silly and was shouting a lot and then got upset when I told him shouting was babyish (he was shouting to get his own way). But I think he was tired after a long day and he soon calmed down.
Activities
When I picked Elliott up from Street Dancing he emerged with a medal for being this week's best street dancer which was brilliant:
Then we went home and he had toast and honey for tea before he got changed into his Brazil kit and went to football training. Football training was really good fun this week and they played chasing games like stuck in the mud and grabbing bibs out of shorts, etc. Then they played a game and Elliott played right wing where he did really well positionally and in terms of tackling and passing. After football training it was bath time and bed time and by bed time he was definitely quite tired.

Kennings poem
General
Elliott was very good again today and did his homework in the morning at the time he agreed without any fuss.
Activities
We had a lazy breakfast watching television and playing with his Minecraft Lego. Then he did his homework which was filling in adjectives in sentances. He did this really well and his hand writing was really good. We went over the words he used and although a few weren't quite right he did really well considering I gave him no help at all. Then we had sausage and mash for lunch.
After lunch he cycled and we walked to The Ship in town where we watched some of the football. After the football he cycled and we walked back and then when we got back he did some more cycling around the block with me. After cycling we watched some Minecraft TV on You Tube before getting ready to do another toy review, this time of his Minecraft Lego Farm. We used the same script as yesterday and his demonstration of features was really good and confident especially as we hadn't even had a practice go:
After the toy review it was time for his bath. Then after his birth we did his home learning which was to write a poem using "Kennings" lines - which are metaphors that end in "er" (e.g. "Mum scarer" for spider and "Crime fighter" for Batman). He wrote a poem about a spider and I wrote one about Batman. After our poem writing he read his school book "The Crystal Planet" and then it was time for bed.

Iron Spider toy review
General
Elliott was really good today. He got ready for football really quickly and said he was looking forward to playing which was great following the last few weeks.
Activities
After breakfast and before football we made Elliott's new Lego Minecraft farm that Graham Lannoy had sent him for his birthday. Then it was off to football. He said he really enjoyed football today and it was brilliant to see him getting really stuck in. He was also very pleased with his trophy. After football he played some Minecraft on my phone and then we had chicken fajitas for lunch which he eat all of with no problems (although he had plain chicken).
After lunch we watched an episode of Junior Bake Off and then we popped in to town for some shopping. He was really good while we were shopping and after we got home we watched the rugby together - he was half watching and asking questions about the game but also watching Mario Borthers on the iPad during the game. During the rugby we also wrote a script together for a toy review of his new Iron Spider toy and he helped write his parts and did some really good hand writing. Netball
General
Elliott was really good after school today.
Activities
After school we went to ASDA for tea and Elliott had a ham sandwich, some raisins and a cake. After tea we went to Loddon Valley Leisure Centre and met up with Andrea and he watched me play in a work team bonding Netball game (boys against girls) which was good fun. After we got home it was bath time followed by reading his Transformers annual and then bed time.

Officially Amazing 3
General
Elliott was mainly good after school today. He did get a bit disappointed about not playing Minecraft after bath time, even though we'd previously discussed and agreed this, but fortunately it didn't take him long to move on and read his book.
Activities
After school he went to swimming lessons and Andrea came to watch today as well. He did well and particularly enjoyed jumping in to the pool which they had to do as an exercise. After swimming we dropped in to Tescos for some quick shopping and he was really good. After tea it was bath time and then after his bath he read some of his new Jack Stalwart book "The search for the sunken treasure: Australia" before reading his school book "One Step Ahead" in bed to himself and then night time.

Elliott was good after school today.
Activities
After picking him up we went straight to the disco and he had lots of fun and showed off his street dance moves a lot. After the disco he had a bath and went to bed nicely. He was quite tired after the dancing I think.

Thank you cards
General
Elliott was good after school again today.
Activities
After school we went straight to swimming lessons and Elliott was engaged and enjoyed himself. He didn't have a shower after swimming today so after we got home we had hot cross buns for tea and then he had a bath. After his bath he wrote thank you cards for his birthday presents which started out really well, but after two letters deteriorated a little into very short thank yous with very big kisses filling the space, but I was really pleased he wrote his cards by himself. After his thank you cards it was bed time.

New Brazil kit
General
Elliott was very good after school today and had sausage and mash for lunch at school.
Activities
After street dance we went home for tea today and Elliott changed into his new Brazil kit for football training and had a ham and cheese toastie for tea. Football training was really good tonight. There were only 5 of them because Harry and Olly weren't there and Jackdip gave Elliott some good tips. he also seemed a bit more confident about the ball. After we got home it was time for a quick bath and then he read his school book "Hola-board Havoc" before bed time.

The Leathern Bottel
General
Elliott was good today. Yesterday he promised he was going to eat 3 peas at lunchtime and then took a long time to eat them leading to a chat about promises and doing things quicker when he's asked. Today he definitely responded and was asking if he'd improved.
Activities
After pick up we went home and made the new Grimlock construct-a-bot. After some time playing he then sat down and did his homework as he'd promised and we talked about how much easier that was and how quick when he'd finished. Then we went to The Leathern Bottel for lunch with our friend Graham Ebers and his family for his 50th birthday. Elliott was brilliant and ate his cheese burger meal and breaded chicken starters with no fuss. Everyone admired his Ironhide outfit and there was another 7 year old boy there called Joshua and they got on really well with Elliott showing him his construct-a-bots and some features of Minecraft.
After lunch we went home and had a relaxed afternoon and evening playing with construct-a-bots and Bop It and watching Teen Titans. He had cheese on toast for tea before bath time and then after bath he began reading a new Jack Stalwart book about sunken treasure in Australia.

World Book Day

Elliott was good after school and had enjoyed after school football club and dressing up as Batman for World Book Day.

On our way home we dropped by the tip in Bracknell and Morrisons. After we got home he had ham and cheese wraps for tea while we watched Minecraft school. After tea he had his bath and then we talked about using a lemon to conduct electricity as part of his home learning (they did this at school this week). He also read a chapter of his school book "The Crystal Planet" before some bed time iPad watching (Big Hero 6 clips).

Birthday presents

Elliott was really good after school today and said he had a good day at school.
Activities
After school we went to swimming lessons and he did really well and had a shower afterwards. Then when we got home it was time to open birthday presents which was very enjoyable. He was pleased with his haul and seemed to really like his Minecraft book and his new Ultimate Humongosaur. After playing with his presents he did some of his homework and then had toast with ham and cheese for tea. Just before bed time Gus came round and Elliott enjoyed talking to Gus about Batman and Star Wars as we all like them.
