Halloween trick or treating

General 

Elliott was really good after school today. He had a good day at school without any incidents and had enjoyed hockey club.

Activities

After school we went straight to swimming and after swimming Elliott had a shower and got changed in to his Halloween skeleton costume. Then we drove home and went trick or treating with Harry and Jack Jenkins and there were lots of houses with pumpkins where they collected sweets. After about an hour of trick or treating we went home and he had toast for tea before taking some cough medicine and cleaning his teeth. Then he read some of his new Darren Shan book before going to sleep.

The Discworld

General 

Elliott was really good today.  

Activities

After breakfast and reading more of The Deadly 7 Elliott went to Salisbury with Granny while I worked. While they were there they went shopping and then they went to Pizza Hut for a buffet lunch.

After lunch they went to Salisbury Museum where they were holding a family activity day based around Terry Pratchett who used to live near Salisbury. He came back having made a really good version of the Discworld (4 elephants on the back of a giant turtle with a cave with a wizard in it on the back of the elephants). He had also finished reading The Deadly 7 book. After they got back to Granny's house he played the Clarinet and then we had chicken fajitas for tea. After tea he did some more of his Study Ladder Maths homework and then had a bath and brushed his teeth. Then he read some of his current Darren Shan book before going to sleep.

Shopping in Salisbury

General 

Elliott was very good today, especially as I had to spend the day working, he only interupted me a few times and understood I was busy. 

Activities

After breakfast Elliott went shopping to Salisbury with Granny. While he was there he showed her some ideas for Christmas presents (heelys and transformers). They also had Hot Chocolate in a cafe and he read more of The Deadly 7 while they were there. By the time they got back it was time for lunch and he had ham sandwiches for lunch.

After lunch he practiced his Clarinet and played some tunes to Granny. Next he did one lot of his Study Ladder Maths homework with Granny helping and afterwards he drew some pictures of Transformers. Then he watched some You Tube channels on the iPad and we uploaded more reviews to his new "EJS Reviews" channel and organised thumbnail pictures for the reviews and pictures for the channel:

Then he watched Blue Peter while I cooked spaghetti bolognese for tea. After tea he had his bath and then did some more drawing before brushing his teeth, reading more of The Deadly 7 and going to bed.

Charlie Sladen

General 

Elliott was good today. I was esepcially pleased with how well he concentrated and focused during the hockey tournament and joined in with listening to the coaches. 

Activities

Before the hockey tournament Elliott made lots of new toy reviews of Transformers which we'll edit and upload over the next few days. Then we went to the hockey tournament and from the moment we arrived he got involved and warmed up. I thought he played really well in the games and made a lot of crucial tackles and some really good dribbling and passing. Also when he was beaten by an opposition he didn't seem to get down hearted and he was played in his position (right back) really well and added width where he could. I thought overall, although the results weren't successful, the team did really well as it felt like a step up in quality and they weren't thrashed in any game and really started to play like a team in disciplined positions until they tired in the last few games. After the hockey we went to DJs party at Wokingham Megabowl where he said he'd had a good time bowling when I picked him up afterwards. He'd had chicken nuggets and chips for lunch.

After lunch we drove to Salisbury where we visited the Sladens and he had a lot of fun playing football and scootering with Charlie and Alice Sladen. Then we headed over to Grannys where he got his Hexbugs out to play with. He had more chicken nuggets for tea after he had his bath. Then he brushed his teeth, played the Clarinet quickly for Granny and read more of The Deadly 7 before it was time to go to sleep.

EJS Reviews

General 

Elliott was very good today. 

Activities

In the morning we had a lazy time watching Saturday Mash Up on BBC2 and he watched some You Tube toy reviews on the iPad. Then we went shopping to ASDA and he bought a Transformer and card for DJ's birthday party tomorrow. When we got back from shopping we had spaghetti bolognese for lunch.

After lunch we did some reading and he read lots more of The Deadly 7. Then he filmed some new toy reviews of his Bumblebee One Step Transformer and we set up a new You Tube channel for his toy reviews "EJS Reviews":

Andrea also practiced some reflexology on our feet. He had toast and ham sandwiches for tea before he did some more toy review filming and then had his bath. Finally he brushed his teeth, plaued some Clarinet and read more of his The Deadly 7 before going to sleep.

Half term

General 

Elliott was happy after school today, especially because it was half term. He said he'd had a good day and that nothing bad had happened following the incident with Tawfiq yesterday.

Activities

After school we went home and he watched some Transformers on the iPad and listened to Transformers soundtrack on Spotify. Then he had sandwich and toast for tea before his bath and brushing his teeth. After his bath he read more of The Deadly 7 before going to sleep.

The Deadly 7

General 

Elliott was really good after school and in good spirits due to Miss Allen liking his Deadly 7 book.

Activities

After Hockey Club we went straight to swimming where Elliott did well before having a shower at the swimming pool. Then we went home and he had ham sandwiches and toast for tea and Elliott finished his Study Ladder Maths homework. Then he brushed his teeth and readmore of The Deadly 7 by Garth Jennings before going to sleep.

Decathlon

General 

Elliott was very good after I picked him up.

Activities

We nipped in to Decathlon on the way home after picking Elliott up and bought a new gum shield and shin pads for hockey. Then we went home and he had a bath and brushed his teeth before watching Strictly Come Dancing with us. When he went up to bed he read some of The Deadly 7 by Garth Jennings before going to sleep.

Sponsorship

General 

Elliott was much happier today and had enjoyed school. He was also pleased with the sponsorship money I'd managed to collect for his challenge to help the NSPCC.

Activities

After hockey after school club we headed to swimming and his lesson went well. After swimming he had a shower and then we went home and he had toast for tea with a penguin for pudding. Then he did his music theory homework, watched some Transformers Robots In Disguise on the iPad and read some of a Doctor Who book. Finally he did his teeth read more of his current Saga of Darren Shan school book and went to sleep.

Whistling Woodwind

General 

Unfotunately after school today Elliott was really upset about a few different things that had happened. He felt he'd been told off unfairly, that he'd been teased about his handwriting and that he'd been teased about having divorced parents. He was in tears for about half an hour, and to start with was gulping breaths. As he calmed down we talked about how people sometimes can be mean when they think someone is different and they don't understand it and how other people sometimes let it happen so their not the ones who get teased. We also talked about mentioning some of the teasing to Miss Pallett next time he speaks to her. We also talked about how some people do get away with things and it can be unfair but eventually those kinds of people normally get told off for something as well. Later in the evening I got a chance to talk to Miss Woods at the end of the Manor information evening so I mentioned it to her and she said she'd pass it on as well.

Activities

After school we went home and had ham sandwiches for tea. After tea we headed to Whistling Woodwind and he really enjoyed it and when he left he was much happier than earlier. When we got home he even practiced his parts quickly before having his bath. After his bath he brushed his teeth, we finished his Study Ladder Maths homework (there was one exercise to go) and then he read more of his current Saga of Darren Shan school book.

Thames Valley Hockey Under 10 Boys A Tournament in Marlow

General 

Elliott was mainly good today. He did get a bit sulky at the end of hockey and also later he was reluctant to do his Maths Study Ladder homework at first, but I helped him make sure he input the numbers he meant to and he seemed much happier with Study Ladder. 

Activities

In the morning we went to the Thames Valley Under 10 Boys A Tournament in Marlow. He played really well and the team played really well against some teams that looked like they might have more experience playing together as teams. Afterwards he got lots of compliments from the Dads who had been running the team and his partnership with Gareth in defence looked good, with some calm and assured tackling and passing out from the back. Unfortunately he was a bit miffed that Richard from midfield had blamed him and Garent for letting some of the other sides score but it was good to hear Richard had been gently put in his place and we talked about how it was the whole team's responsibility and that defence starts with not losing the ball in midfield if possible. Fortunately he said he didn't think it would ruin their team spirit or him wanting to be part of the team. After the tournament we headed home and did his Maths Study Ladder homework which he was not keenon starting, but once we got going he worked out on paper and then we carefully put the answers in to the iPad. After homework we had sasusages, rice and broccolli for lunch and watched Transformers Dark of the Moon.

After lunch he had a bath and practiced his Clarinet before he drew a squirrel called "Par" as his entry to the Blue Peter Awesome Animation competition. For this he had to design and draw an original non human character that could exist in the Early Man (Nick Park) animated film being made at the moment. He described "Par" as mostly kind, but can be vicious and can beat a Transformer on the entry form. Then we watched some of the England football match verses Lithuania game while we ate ham sandwiches for tea. He made his own sandwiches for tea to be helpful. Finally he brushed his teeth and read more of his latest Darren Shan school book before going to sleep.

Bracknell Bees

General 

Elliott was really good today. 

Activities

We had a lazy morning after breakfast playing with toys and watching Blue Peter. He also did his English homework (using new words they'd learnt in sentences) and we popped to Sainsburys where he spent his pocket money on a new Bumblebee Transformer and we picked up some rolls for lunch. We had ham rolls for lunch after we got home while we watched the final episode of Lego Masters.

After lunch he went for a bike ride and played outside with me in the fields. Then he practiced his Clarinet, although unfortunately he hit himself in the face with his Clarinet while he was putting it together. After he'd finished with his Clarinet we headed to the John Nike Centre to watch the Bracknell Bees play Streatham at Ice Hockey:

He had a hot dog for tea while we watched the match, which we both enjoyed, and Bracknell Bees won 6-1. After the match we headed home and he cleaned his teeth before reading more of his latest Saga of Darren Shan book before going to sleep.

Wooden bear cube

General 

Elliott was very good after school today and was in good spirits. He did talk about his chats with Miss Pallett a little bit and also said he was doing extra hand writing classes but he sounded happy with both.

Activities

After school we popped in to Sainsburys on the way home and he showed me some Transformers and his Christmas list. When we got home he played with a wooded puzzle I bought him back from the Art Gallery of Ontario as a present (it's a wooden cube that unfolds to be a bear and the challenge is to fold it back up as a cube). Then we had ham sandwiches for tea and watched Blue Peter before he had his bath. After his bath he read of his current Saga of Darren Shan school book.
