Elliott's 10th Birthday

General 

Elliott was in very good spirits today for his birthday. He got up early to open his presents and cards and seemed to enjoy me helping look after his class while they walked around Maiden Erlegh lake. 

Activities

After his birthday tea with you we went straight to Whistling Woodwind and he enjoyed the rehearsal and at the end everyone played Happy Birthday to him which he liked, but also found a bit embarrassing. After Whistling Woodwind we headed home and he had a bath, gor ready for bed, brushed his teeth and set up and tried out his new remote control truck, before getting in to bed and reading more of his Darren Shan school book.

Birthday cinema trip

General 

Elliott good today. I thought overall they all behaved pretty well during the trip to the cinema with the occaisonal moment of high spirits. 

Activities

After breakfast he practiced his Clarinet and then we headed to the school gates to meet up with you, Libby, Charlie, Adam, Yash, Thomas and Harry. Then it was off to Bracknell Odeon for Paddington 2 with everyone as a birthday treat:

After the film and dropping everyone back at the school gates we went to Sainsbury’s to buy some food shopping and then we went home. 

After we got home Elliott opened his presents and he’d got a new fingerboard and ramp, a Diary of a Wimpy Kid book, a Star Wars card and dice game, a remote control car, a UFO experiment kit, a Nerf gun, a big bar of chocolate and a ten pound note. He played with his new toys for a few hours and then he did his homework (he researched Nobel Peace Prize winners and chose David Trimble and John Hume to do a story board for showing how they helped the Northern Irish peace process). After his homework he went outside and did some scootering before having chicken and rice for tea. After tea he had a bath, got ready for bed, brushed his teeth and then read some of his latest Darren Shan book out loud to me before going to sleep.

Sol Joel skatepark

General 

Elliott was mainly good today. At the end of his time skateboarding and scootering at Sol Joel park he decided not to try quite a steep ramp as he was a bit scared but then when we left he got really upset that he hadn't tried the ramp. I tried to get him to put not trying the ramp in to perspective and remembering it's good to take things at his own pace but he got quite obsessed about it and eventually it led to us both being quite cross. However he did then calm down and eventually admitted he'd really enjoyed his time at the skatepark. 

Activities

After breakfast we headed to Sol Joel skatepark to do some skateboarding and (mainly) scootering. Harry and Jack Smith and their Dad also turned up (Elliott had told Harry we were going on his way out of school yesterday) and everyone had good fun. While we were there Woodley Wanderers Tigers also played a game on the football pitch next to the skatepark so it was good to say hello to some old faces like Theo and Mike. After a few hours the Smiths left and we left too although Elliott was upset with himself for not trying the ramp. On the way home we stopped at ASDA and bought some cheese rolls which was had with ham for lunch when we got home. While I was making lunch he did his Maths Study Ladder homework with not complaining which was really good. 

After lunch he went to see you and your parents for birthday presents and when he got back he was really pleased with his new fingerboard purchases. He did some more scooter practice after he got back (which was good as it meant he hadn't really given up on scootering as threatened at one point) and then he had a bath. After his bath he practiced his Clarinet and then we had spaghetti bolognese for tea while we watched Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway. Then he brushed his teeth, got in to bed and read some more of his latest Darren Shan school book before going to sleep.

Disco

General 

Elliott was good after school today and patient during the discos that weren't his while waiting for his disco. 

Activities

After we got home from school Elliott had toast for tea and then we headed to the disco. He really enjoyed his disco though spent a lot of it stood with me. But he was socialising too with Thomas, Charlie, Adam (Hughes), Sam, Isaac and plenty of others. Also a girl called Isobel kept chasing him round saying she was better than him as she once helped him look after Libby and Libby said she liked her. After we got home he brushed his teeth, got ready for bed, read his Darren Shan school book quickly and then went straight to sleep as it was quite late.

WASMA rehearsal

General 

Elliott was really good after I picked him up from his WASMA rehearsal. 

Activities

Elliott had enjoyed the WASMA rehearsal and after we got home he had some sandwiches for tea and played with his finger boards. Then he had a bath, brushed his teeth and read some of his latest Darren Shan school book before going to sleep.

Winchester Science Centre

General 

Elliott was very good today. He's still coughing but hardly coughed during the day. In the evening after his bath he had a blocked nose and was coughing more again.

Activities

After breakfast Elliott practiced his Clarinet before we left for Winchester Science Centre. We had fun there and saw a Planetarium show about searching for life on other planets and then a show about gases in which there were a lot of bangs. Then we had hame sandwiches for lunch before taking part in many of the science stations there, including trying on a space suit:

After the Sciene Centre we headed to a skatepark in Hook and the weather was much nicer today so Elliott could do lots of scootering:

After the skatepark we went to Pizza Express in Fleet for tea on the way home and Elliott had a dough balls, a pepperoni pizza with ham and a chocolate brownie. After tea we popped in to Morrisons in Fleet to do some shopping and then drove home. Elliott had his bath when we got in and then watched Winter Olympmics highlights with me before reading more of George's Secret Key to the Universe and going to sleep.

Brilliant Birds

General 

Elliott was mainly in good spirits today. He did get upset after lunch because it was raining and he wanted to scooter in the skatepark but he did cheer up quickly. 

Activities

After we'd got up and had breakfast he practiced his Clarinet and then we drove to Pulborough Bird Reserve for a Brilliant Birds family event. This began by the children there saying what birds they thought they might see. Then we went out on to the reserve to look for birds with binoculars they provided starting in a field setting where we saw Blue Tits, Great Tits and a Long Tailed Tit:

Then we walked to a special hide by a lake where everyone had some hot chocolate and we saw lots of different water birds, with Elliott's favourite being some Lapwings:

Then we headed back to the visitor centre and everyone made bird feeders using pine cones (which they smeared with fat and seeds). Next we had ham sandwiches for lunch. 

After lunch we drove to a skatepark on the way home but unfortunately it started to rain the the ramps became slippy which he was upset about for a while. So we drove home instead and he watched a Wallace and Grommit film and had a rest. During the whole day he did little films of "a day in the life" and he started editing these after we got home as well. He had burgers, waffles and peas for tea before having his bath and bushing his teeth. Then he read more of George's Secret Key to the Universe before going to sleep.

Pancakes

General 

Elliott was really good after holiday club and had enjoyed his day at holiday club. 

Activities

After I picked up when went to swimming lessons and he did well and has almost passed his current stage (he just needs to pass Butterfly). After swimming he had a shower and then we picked up the ingredients for pancakes on the way home and his stunt scooter and after we got home we made pancakes and he had pancakes for tea. After tea he brushed his teeth and read his George's Secret Key to the Universe book before it was time to go to sleep.

Mr Mulligan's Lost World

General 

Elliott was really good today and was a feeling a lot better. He did cough during the day but only sporadically and he seemed back to being himself. 

Activities

After breakfast we headed off to Mr Mulligan's Lost World crazy gold course in Cheltenham with Andrea and her friend Sarah to meet their friends and God children for a day out. Unfortunately we found out when we were nearly there that the other party had broken down and wouldn't be able to make it. So we ended up playing crazy golf amongst ourselves but it was good fun and Elliott got a really good hole in one on the last hole in the course. After the golf we went to a Microbrewery restaurant next door and Elliott had a hamburger with chips for lunch. 

After lunch we went home and he practiced some skateboarding outside before coming in and watching some skateboarding videos on the iPad. He also downloaded a skateboarding game which he played for a while. Then we had cheese on toast for tea before he had his bath and brushed his teeth. Then he read his lastest Darren Shan school book before going to sleep slightly earlier than normal again.

Brail club video

General 

Elliott was good after I picked him up from school. He was very subdued and said he had a sore throat, stomach ache and headache. After he had some calpol he perked up and seemed more comfortable but he spent the day relaxing. 

Activities

After we got home Elliott got changed in to his pyjamas and relaxed on his duvet in his room. He did some finger boarding, watched some You Tube finger boarding videos, made a vlog for his skate club Brail and did some reading. He had ham sandwich for lunch and toast for tea. After tea he had a bath, brushed his teeth and relaxed in his room for a while before reading some of his next Darren Shan school book and getting an early night.

Super Stan dress rehearsal

General 

Elliott was good after school today and had enjoyed the dress rehearsal of Super Stan. 

Activities

After hockey club we went straight to swimming where he enjoyed the lesson before haing his shower. After he got home he was really pleased to find the Brail skateboard club stickers he designed had arrived. He also did some finger boarding before brushing his teeth and getting ready for bed. Finally her read more of his Skullduggery Pleasant school book before bed time which he asked if it could be 5 minutes earlier to help him catch up on sleep.
