Halloween trick or treating with Harry Higgins

General 

Elliott was mainly good today. At the end of the day he did get grumpy about not having done enough trick or treating when he had the opportunity but I think he was tired and he did cheer up before going to sleep. 

Activities

After I picked him up we drove down to Granny and Grandpa’s house in Downton. breakfast When we arrived we unpacked and then had crackers for lunch.

After lunch we drove to Durrington to see Matt, Lara, Harry and Bertie Higgins. Elliott and Harry played Fortnite together after we first arrived and then the boys had chicken nuggets, chips and (a few) peas for tea before going trick or treating around Durrington. Some people had made a lot of effort creating spooky houses and Elliott enjoyed walking around while skateboarding in his Marty McFly character:

He was a bit reticent to visit too many doors for sweets. After we got back to the Higgins house he and Harry had more fun together before we headed back to Downton. As soon as we got in he had a bath, got ready for bed and brushed his teeth before he became upset about not having visited enough doors for trick or treating. However he cheered up after he got his hot water bottle and then read  “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Getaway" by Jeff Kinney before going to sleep.

Cubing

General 

Elliott was good after school today and said he'd had a good day at school. 

Activities

After Homework Club we went home and he had crackers for tea. Then he played with his Rubix Cubes and disassembled and reassembled one of them. He had crackers for tea and then he had his bath, brushed his teeth and got ready for bed. He read more of his "The Wizards of Once: Twice Upon A Time" book by Cressida Cowell before going to sleep.

Clarinet lesson

General 

Elliott was good after school todayand said he'd had a good day at school. 

Activities

After school we went straight to his Clarinet lesson and he said he learned how to play higher notes better with his teacher who was back. Then we had ham sandwiches for tea and went to Costa Coffee before it was time for Whistling Woodwind with his same teacher. After Whistling Woodwind we went home, he had a bath, brushed his teeth and then got ready for bed. Before going to sleep he read more of his "The Wizards of Once: Twice Upon A Time" book by Cressida Cowell.

John Finnemore's Flying Visit

General 

Elliott was really good today. 

Activities

After breakfast we went to hockey training. This was really good this week and Elliott had some one to one coaching on hitting the ball and how to find space when he gets a pass. Then in the game at the end he played really well and put a lot of effort in and was trying to help the less experienced players get better. After hockey we headed home and he had a bath before having a hamburger for lunch.

After lunch he did some Clarinet practice and some cubing before we headed to Reading. We had tea in Starbucks in Reading and Elliott had a ham and cheese panini. Then we headed to The Hexagon to watch John Finnemore's Flying Visit which we both found very funny. After the show we headed straight home and Elliott went straight to bed after brushing his teeth due to it being later than normal bed time. He did read "The Wizards of Once: Twice Upon A Time" by Cressida Cowell for 5 minutes and then he went straight to sleep.

Adam Barker's party

General 

Elliott was very good today. 

Activities

In the morning he relaxed and played with his Rubix Cubes. He watched some videos about Fast and Furious films and he also practiced his Clarinet. Then he had a bath before lunch to get ready for the party. He had pasta with pepporoni sauce for lunch.

After lunch I dropped him at Adam Barker's house for the gaming party and also there were Charlie, Thomas and Kerry. He enjoyed playing various computer games including Fortnite and then they had pizza and cake for tea. After I picked him up we went home and he played with his Rubix Cubes again before getting ready for bed and brushing his teeth. He read more of "The Wizards of Once: Twice Upon A Time" book by Cressida Cowell before going to sleep.

Party present

General 

Elliott was really good after school today. 

Activities

After picking him up we went to ASDA where we bought a present and card for Adam Barker's birthday party tomorrow (Elliott bought a Fortnite figure as the present). Then we headed home and he wrote the card for Adam Barker and he played some SumDog on his Chromebook. Next he had his bath, brushed his teeth, got ready for bed and read more of his "The Wizards of Once: Twice Upon A Time" book by Cressida Cowell before igoing to sleep.

Whistling Woodwind

General 

Elliott was very good after school today. 

Activities

We went straight to his Clarinet lesson after school and he played duets with his old Whistling Woodwind teacher (who was covering for his new teacher for a week). He said she told him he'd really improved since she last heard him play. Then we had ham sandwiches for tea before it was time for Whistling Woodwind with the same teacher covering which he enjoyed. After Whistling Woodwind we headed home and he had a bath and brushed his teeth before getting ready for bed. He read more of his "The Wizards of Once: Twice Upon A Time" book by Cressida Cowell before it was time to go to sleep.

Elliott was good after school today. 

Activities

When I picked him up after school he told me that he'd seen some Forest boys stealing bike parts from the Forest School bike shed and had told Asain the School Leader who had been really pleased he'd told them. After we got home he did some Scratch coding before he had a burger for tea. After tea he played a driving game on his phone before doing some Clarinet practice and having an early bath. Then he brushed his teeth and got ready for bed before packing his bags. Then he showed me some official school photos in his bag, including a photo of Windsor and  he did some extra long reading tonight reading more of "The Wizards of Once: Twice Upon A Time" book by Cressida Cowell.

Clarinet lesson

General 

Elliott was very good after school today. 

Activities

After school we went straight to Elliott's first Clarinet lesson. This went well and afterwards he seemed really happy and has a few good practice targets. We also got his Grade 2 certificate and mark sheet. Then we had ham sandwiches for tea before it was back for Whistling Woodwind. After Whistling Woodwind we went straight home and Elliott had his bath and brushed his teeth. After his teeth we went through the learning presentation for parents and then he read more of "The Wizards of Once: Twice Upon A Time" book by Cressida Cowell before going to sleep.

Hockey tournament

General 

Elliott was good today. 

Activities

In the morning we got up early to get to the hockey tournament. I thought he played really well and with a bit more organisation the side could have done better than losing three and drawing two. It was great to see Elliott playing in midfield and scoring two goals and afterwards he was really tired when we got home. He seems resolved to keep trying to help the less experienced boys in the team and he said the coach told him he was saying the right things to them during the games. After we got home he had a bath before we had ham and cheese rolls for lunch.

After lunch he did some more coding with Scratch and started creating a Transformers game. He also did some more Rubix Cube mainetenance and watched some You Tube videos about improving Rubix Cubes. We had Roast Chicken for tea and he had broccoli with his roast potatoes. After tea he finished off some coding and then brushed his teeth and got ready for bed. He read more of "The Wizards of Once: Twice Upon A Time" book by Cressida Cowell before going to sleep.

Decathlon

General 

Elliott was really good today. 

Activities

In the morning he did his homework and also finished coding his Pokemon game in Scratch. The game was a battle between Pikachu and Bulbasaur and was really good. Then we headed to Wokingham where we did some Pokemon hunting and I picked up a repaired iPad. He had a ham and cheese baguette for lunch.

After lunch we went to Reading to go shopping in Decathlon. We bought new rugby boots, a new sports bag for school sports kit and a new gum shield from there and then we went food shopping at Tescos on the way back home. After we got home he worked on maintaining his Rubix Cubes and then he had Macaroni Cheese for tea. After tea we fitted his new gum shield and then he brushed his teeth and got ready for bed. We agreed it was better for him to save his bath until after tomorrow's hockey tournament. Before going to sleep he read more of "The Wizards of Once: Twice Upon A Time" book by Cressida Cowell.

Scratch

General 

Elliott was really good after school today. 

Activities

After we got home Elliott did some Scratch coding on his Chromebook and had sandwiches for tea. Then he had a bath, brushed his teeth and then read more of "The Wizards of Once: Twice Upon A Time" book by Cressida Cowell before going to sleep.
