General
Elliott was good for most of today, but he did get a little bit upset when we lost his Sarge ("Army Jeep") toy in The Basketball Arena. At one point he asked if we could leave the Olympics and go to Tescos. However the upset didn't last long and we know that Sarge lives at the Olympics now. It was also a late night so he was a little hyperactive towards the end of our journey back, but he was well behaved considering the train home was very crowded and he had to sit on the floor.
Activities
The journey to the Olympic Park was very exciting and involved different trains and tubes. When we got to the Park it was massive and very busy and Elliott was a bit overwhelmed at first. However after a quick pink juice orange he soon got into the swing of things and we had a look around at the different venues and spectacular views.
After a while we made our way to The Basketball Arena for the Handball match between Sweden and Denmark. The Arena was big and they were playing lots of music and building everyone up inside with lots of lights and an MC. At first Elliott was a bit subdued by the noise but he began to get into it and started to clap along,. Then the game began and he watched interested for about 20 minutes. At that point he began to lose interest which wasn't surprising as we'd arrived 40 minutes before throw off. So we went outside for half time early which worked out well as the food and merchandise stalls around the arena were deserted and we had the chance to buy a new Wenlock as a souvenir (and to make up for losing Sarge earlier). We got back inside in time for the end of the cheer leader half time gymnastic display which he really enjoyed. Then we watched the whole of the second half and he enjoyed it and we cheered for Sweden who won. After the match we had a bite to eat on our way out of the park (sandwiches from a Deli style shop) and then we made our way out and home with Elliott on my shoulders. The journey back was crowded but Elliott was well behaved. By the time we got back and he went to sleep he was very tired but happy.
