After breakfast it was off to Holiday Club in St Crispin's Leisure Centre again with a packed lunch. He said he'd had a good time again and today had played football, trampolining, mini Olympics, dodgeball and badminton. He was playing badminton when I came to pick him up and doing really well. After we got home he had some toast to tide him over and then we headed off to Reading verses Fulham with Andrea, Graham and Jack Jenkins and Tim Chandler. He had a lot of fun at the game and also very much enjoyed a hot dog:
The match was very foggy and at half time they announced that it was being abandoned which led to some complaints from the crowd and Elliott. But we headed home and when we got home it was getting late so it was tooth brushing and then straight to bed.
After breakfast and some time playing with Tracy Island we headed off to Wokingham and I dropped him off at St Crispin's Leisure Centre on my way to work for Holiday Club with a packed lunch. When I picked him up after work he said he'd had lots of fun and they'd played Handball, Cricket, then lunch then Rounders and then Tennis. He also said Charlie was there again and he'd enjoyed seeing him. After Holiday Club we headed to Tescos for some shopping and after we got home he played with Tracy Island and Lego while he watched the iPad. Then we had hot dogs for tea. After tea he wrote a poem about co-operation for his home learning and we talked about how co-operation happens in team sports and then he wrote his first two thank you cards. Then he played with Lego again before bath, bed time squash and reading some of his Star Wars encyclopedia before it was time to go to sleep.
Elliott was very good today and he even tidied his room up without being asked.
Activities
After breakfast at Granny and Grandpa's Elliott did the first half of his Maths homework (colouring in times table sums based on the value of the answer in different colours). He did really well and didn't complain about doing his homework at all. After he'd finished his homework he got his Clarinet out and did some practice and then he played his tune with Grandpa accompanying him on the piano:

He began to get quite confident with his skateboarding towards the end. Then we headed back and he finished his Maths homework before we played Star Wars monopoly with Granny and Andrea which was good fun. Elliott won the monopoly game. After monopoly we had spaghetti bolognese for lunch..
After lunch we drove back home via Tescos and after he got home he made a Minecraft animation video that was really good with his Minecraft Animation kit that Granny and Grandpa gave him for Christmas. Then he had rolls with luncheon meat for tea before he had his bath. After his bath he played with his new Tracy Island and his Thunderbirds vehicles for a bit before watching some iPad. The after his bedtime squash he brushed his teeth, read some more "Horrid Henry meets the Queen" and then it was time for bed.
Elliott was good today. He was a little tired before lunch and then right at the end of the day he got upset when a play fight between him and Harry Higgins got a bit too boisterous, but he accepted Harry's apology and realised that Harry hadn't hurt him deliberately.
Activities
In the morning we travelled down to Salisbury with Andrea where we met Granny and Grandpa for lunch in Pizza Express. Elliott had his normal dough balls, pasta burro and chocolate brownie combination. After lunch we went to Salisbury Playhouse to see Aladdin. The show was really good, had lots of current songs in it and Elliott really enjoyed it. He especially liked Widow Twanky (who he thought was the same Dame as the one in the Reading pantomime) and Aladdin. He joined in with the shouting and the singing and giggled a lot at lots of the jokes. After the pantomime Granny and Grandpa went home and we headed to The Cathedral Hotel where we met up with Matt and Harry Higgins to watch Liverpool verses Stoke City. Harry had bought Elliott some Pokemon cards as a present and when he opened one of the packets Elliott found there was a Mutu EX card which caused a lot of rejoicing. The boys got on really well and played Pokemon and had fun with only a play fight towards the end getting a little out of hand, but they both made up quickly and Elliott was very grown up about forgiving Harry for accidentally hurting him. Then we drove back to Granny and Grandpa's house for tea (Elliott had some toast), bath and teeth brushing. After his bedtime squash Elliott watched some iPad and read some of "Horrid Henry meets the Queen" before it was time to go to sleep.
Elliott was really good today and was very patient waiting to open his presents as he didn't have them all with him at the start of the day. He did get a bit upset right at the end of the day because he broke one of the trees on his new Tracy Island from Father Christmas but when we fixed it with glue he cheered up and it was the end of a long day.
Activities
He woke up quite early and came in to wake me up because it was Christmas. Father Christmas had come in Arborfield so he opened some Pokemon cards that Granny and Grandpa had bought him and was very pleased with them. After breakfast we went for a quick Pokemon hunt in Downton before we headed to the Cathedral for the Christmas morning eucharist. After the service finished we said hello to some people and then headed back to Arborfield where he opened his presents from Father Christmas including a Tracy Island:
After he'd opened his presents we began making his Tracy Island and then headed over to Andrea's Dad's house with Granny and Grandpa for Christmas lunch:
He sat with Harry and Jack Jenkins for his lunch and eat really well, including a large piece of broccoli which he ate wth no fuss at all.
After lunch he opened the rest of his presents which included Lego Star Wars annual, a Lego space shuttle, a Thunderbird figure, the Dangermouse car, some Star Wars pjyamas, a Skillet CD and the CD of the children's mass. Then he had lots of fun playing Christmas games with everyone including lots of Junior Monopoly as Jack Jenkins had got Junior Monopoly as one of his presents. We all had snacks for tea and then we came home in a taxi and finished off building Tracy Island. This was when he got a little upset because he re-organised the trees on the set and one broke, but we fixed it together. Then he changed in to his new Star Wars pyjamas, brushed his teeth and went to bed as it was getting quite late.
Elliott was really good today and even though he was excited he didn't get over excited in a bad way.
Activities After I'd picked him up we went back to Arborfield and left out a chocolate roll and pint of ale for Father Christmas and a carrot and bowl of milk for his reindeer. Then we headed to Downton. On the journey we listened to Cabin Pressure in the car which he enjoyed. After we got to Downton he drew some Star Wars vehicles in his notebook and we watched some Doctor Who and Muppets Christmas Carol. He also played with various toys and when he saw Father Christmas's sleigh on the Norad website he wondered if we should have left out more than one carrot for the reindeer because he could count 9 reindeer. He had chicken nuggets and chips for tea and ate some peas as well with no fuss at all. Then he had his bath and after his bath we watched Father Christmas on the Norad website again. Then he had his bedtime squash, brushed his teeth read some of a Horrid Henry book before bed time and went to sleep nicely and quickly.
Elliott was good after school today and had a great last day at school where the choir sang in assembly and they played games all day (Josh taught him to play chess and he really liked it).
Activities After school we went shopping to Lidl, and popped in to Wokingham for some Christmas shopping before we went to the garage to get my car key fixed. Then we headed home and he watched some Pokemon on his iPad before toast for tea. Then he had his bath, bedtime squash and read his Lego Star Wars magazine before bed time.
Elliott was really good after school. He was really excited there's only one more day of school to go.
Activities After school we headed home and he played Star Wars. He had toast for tea, then a bath, then bedtime squash, then he read his school book and then it was time for bed.
Elliott was very good today and after Rogue One was very happy.
Activities
Hockey this morning was good fun and they had a tournament with mixed teams from different age groups with Elliott playing alongside grown ups and teenagers. He played well and I think it really helped his confidence. After the tournament they all had some party food on paper plates in the clubhouse and he was socialising with some of the boys from his age group (Tom and James) which was really good to say. After hockey we went to ASDA to do some shopping and then went to MacDonalds for lunch (he had a chicken nuggets happy meal). After lunch we came home and he had a bath. Then we watched an episode of Planet Earth 2 about desserts before heading off to Showcase to see Rogue One in 3D. He really liked Rogue One and afterwards was pretending to be a Rebel Alliance soldier. After we got home he read some of his Doctor Who encyclopedia and then had some toast for tea before brushing his teeth and going to bed.
Elliott was good after school and had enjoyed his day at school..
Activities After school we went to ASDA where we bought a small Christmas Tree and some Christmas cards. Then we headed to swimming where they had their last session before Christmas which was a fun session where they played on floats, etc. When we got home he wrote 8 Christmas cards for his school friends and 3 Christmas cards for his teachers. Then he helped decorate the Christmas Tree and had some toast for tea. After tea he played with some Lego before cleaning his teeth, reading some more of his school book Spy Dog and going to sleep (he was already in his pyjamas as he changed in to these after having his shower after swimming).
Elliott was happy after school today as he'd enjoyed hockey club and he'd had more choir practice which he'd also enjoyed. He also had spicy chicken for lunch which he said was one of his favourite lunches.
Activities After school we went straight to his swimming lesson which he said he'd enjoyed. After swimming he had a shower and got changed in to his pyjamas and he had a millionaire shortbread bar as a treat on the way home. After we got home he had toast for tea home and he read some of his Lego Club magazine and Spy Dog. Then he brushed his teeth and it was time for bed.
Elliott was good after school today and was in good spirits because he'd had choir practice all afternoon to get ready for the concerts coming up this weekend.
Activities After school we went home and he watched the iPad for a bit to relax before getting changed for football training and having toast as a snack. Football training was quite cold and there were only six there tonight. he seemed a bit distracted and not concentrating as much as he does for hockey, but he did some good things and it was hard because there were so few of them. After training we drove home and he had a quick bath before brushing his teeth and reading a few pages of his school book Spy Dog to get him ready for sleep.
Elliott was really good today. He was quite excitable after Thomas's party but that was understandable.
Activities
We got up and ready early this morning for the hockey tournament only to find it had been cancelled just before we were about to leave. Elliott didn't seem too upset as he said he thought it would be frozen off again. So we had a lazy time for a few hours instead and he also practiced his clarinet, did another lot of his maths questions and wrote to Father Christmas asking for a Lego Millennium Falcon and a Tracy Island for Christmas. Then we left for Wokingham but we went to Henry Street Garden Centre on the way to post the letter to Father Christmas in a special Christmas post box they have there. When we got to Wokingham we did some more Christmas shopping and Pokemon hunting before it was time to head to Wokingham Megabowl for Thomas's lazerquest party. Elliott really enjoyed the party and had chicken nuggest and chips there for lunch.. After the party we headed home where our friends John, Ruth, Alice and Hetty came to visit and he had fun showing Alice and Hetty his Lego and toys and having lightsaber battles with John. After they left we watched Miracle on 34th Street and he had toast for tea while he was watching it with a slice of Thomas's birthday cake for pudding. Then he did his last set of maths questions before having a bath. After his bath we looked in to Advent for home learning while he had his bed time squash. Then he brushed his teeth, read some more of his Spy Dog school book and then it was time for sleep.
Elliott was good today. He did get a little bored towards the end of shopping but that was understandable.
Activities
Before football he did his homework (plotting a shape with co-ordinates and marking down the co-ordinates) and his first lot of Maths sums. He also watched some Minecraft on the iPad and played with an Enderman toy he got at the Christmas Fayre. I thought he had a really good football game today and deserved his man of the match as he did a lot of defending as well as some great dribbling and passing and his goal was excellent (reminded me of Firmino, beating 2 men on the right and cutting in to the box before scoring). I thought Panthers played really well until they all got changed around though I support the idea of swapping people around and developing them more than some of the other parents. However I do agree the scoreline was very flattering to Maidenhead, who deserved to win, but not 7-1 (or whatever it was). Anyway he enjoyed the game again and seems to be really enjoying football again at them moment and playing with more confidence. After we got home he had a quick bath and a sandwich for lunch. After lunch we caught the bus to Reading and went Christmas shopping and bought a present for Thomas for his party tomorrow. Elliott was pretty good for most of the shopping, although he was visibly getting quite fidgety towards the end. However after we finished shopping we went to Pizza Express for tea where he had his normal (dough balls, pasta burro and chocolate brownie) and it was nice to eat out. Then we caught the bus home and after we got in he brushed his teeth, put his pyjamas on and went to bed.
Activities After school we headed home to get changed and have a snack and then went back to school for the Christmas Fayre. Elliott really enjoyed the Christmas Fayre and spent time going round the stalls with Thomas, Tawfiq, Ishan, Charlie and Isaac. After the Fayre we picked up his football boots and headed home where he brushed his teeth and went straight to bed as it was quite late.
Elliott was good after school. He said he'd quite enjoyed hockey club but was a bit frustrated because Years 5 and 6 got to play a game but he'd had to carry on practicing skills.
Activities We went straight to swimming after hockey for his lesson. After he'd showered and got changed we went home and he had toast for tea. He watched some Pokemon on the iPad and then finished reading his snakes book so he could start reading his new fiction book Spy Dog. Then it was time to get changed for bed, brush his teeth and go to sleep.

Then he had his bedtime squash, brushed his teeth and read his school book about snakes before bed time (he's keen to finish reading his snakes book as he has to read a non fiction book before he can read his new fiction book).
Elliott was in a good mood after school today. He'd had spaghetti bolognese for lunch, enjoyed choir and enjoyed an experiment about whether sound passes through objects or the air quicker (objects is the answer apparently).
Activities When we got in from school he played with his Thunderbirds toys for a while and we had a chat about Christmas presents from Father Christmas and I think I persuaded him not to focus completely on Pokemon cards (so Star Wars, Thunderbirds Tracy Island and a smaller Pokemon card pack). He seemed a bit worried about changing his list and Father Christmas knowing so we might write a letter tomorrow. Then it was toast for tea before football training. Football training tonight was a bit disheveled and they were all messing around more than usual. Elliott also got hurt when the ball bent back his finger but he was fine after an ice pack. After football we went home, he had a quick bath and then bedtime squash, teeth brushing and read to the end of his school book about Greek myths.
We had a lazy time before hockey and Elliott watched some Pokemon episodes on the iPad. He played really well in hockey again and said he got 35 points for the exercise where they were passing it between cones (5 points for between green, 2 points for between red and 1 point for between yellows). He was also pleased with his 2 goals. After hockey we went to Costa in Wokingham for a snack and to warm up and then we played some Pokemon Go. When we got home we had ham sandwiches for lunch. After lunch he finished his Maths sums homework and we researched Egyptian Hieroglyphics for home learning. Then he played with his Thunderbirds toys for a while before we watched Planet Earth 2 (which was about wildlife in mountains). We had chicken and rice for tea and then he had a bath, bedtime squash, brushed his teeth and read another 10 pages of his school book (about Greek myths) before bed time.
Before we went to football Elliott did his Maths symmetry homework (recreating mirror images of shapes in a grid) and his first set of Maths sums. Then we went to Reading Station to pick up Granny and then on to football. We really enjoyed today's match and I thought the Panthers all played towards their best. The result certainly didn't reflect how well the Panthers played and afterwards he seemed very happy with today's game. After football when we got home Elliott had a quick bath and then we had spaghetti bolognese for lunch. After lunch we went for a walk from the house around Arborfield Garrison with Granny and Elliott did a lot of scootering and Pokemon hunting. When we got back from the walk Elliott showed Granny his Pokemon cards and then we drove Granny back to Reading station. We popped in to Tescos on the way home and after we got home we had ham and cheese sandwiches for tea. Then we watched Strictly Come Dancing before he brushed his teeth and read some of his school book before it was time to go to sleep.
Elliott was in good spirits after school. Miss Woods did come and speak to me after school because Elliott had hurt his finger by shutting it in a door after lunch and we also had a quick chat about Thursday's and Mrs Hema. It sounds like there won't be a phone call but she said that some of the class have problems adjusting to Mrs Hema's different style and Elliott says she is more impatient than Miss Woods. So Miss Woods said it's good to try and remind him that different people in life can act differently.
Activities On our way home from school we sent shopping at Sainsburys and Elliott used his pocket money to buy a magazine for him and one for Libby (to give her at Christmas). After we got home I gave him some presents from The Lake District (a bookmark, a fossil and some a white chocolate sheep) and then he played for a while and read his new magazine. Then it was time for toast before he got ready for bed, read some of his school book, brushed his teeth and went to bed.
Elliott was very good after school again today and said they'd been to the Baptist Church during the day to learn more about the real meaning of the nativity.
Activities I picked him up after Hockey Club and he'd really enjoyed himself. Then we went straight to swimming where he did really well before we got home for some relaxation time and some toast. Before bed he played his clarinet and read some of his school book and then he brushed his teeth and went to bed.
Elliott was good after school today and had enjoyed his day at school where they'd had to go and write down sounds they could here in one of their exercises.
Activities After I picked him up we went home and he got changed in to his football kit for training and then chilled out for a while watching the iPad, practicing his clarinet and playing with Poe Dameron toys. Then we had some toast for tea and headed out to training. It was really cold at training but he did well and did some good passing in the sessions and in a little game they had at the end. After training we went home as quick as possible and he had a quick bath, read some of his school book, brushed his teeth and then it was time for bed.
In the morning we got going early to get to the hockey tournament in Bracknell, only to find after a pitch inspection there that the pitch was too frozen to be safe and the tournament was cancelled. Elliott was disappointed but took it in good spirits and when we got home he did another lot of his Maths sums and then had a bath to make up for not having one the night before. After his bath we went to Reading where we went to Subway for lunch and he had salami and ham in Italian bread. After lunch we wandered around the shops for a bit and did some Pokemon hunting before we met up with Andrea to go and see George's Marvellous Medicine in the Hexagon. George's Marvellous Medicine was really good and he laughed and joined in. After the play we went home and had spaghetti bolognese for tea. Then he did his final set of Maths homework and wrote down some facts about Earthquakes for his home learning. Then he brushed his teeth, read some of his school book and went to sleep and he didn't have another bath after having had one earlier in the day.
Before we went to football Elliott did his first set of Maths sums for his homework and did them quickly and well. Then we went to football and he played really well I thought, particularly in the second half when he was defending. He said afterwards that he'd enjoyed it and felt more confident. After football when we got home we had some home made hot dogs for lunch. After lunch we went to Forbury retail park in Reading to go sofa shopping. It must have been quite boring for him (I was bored of sitting on the sofas myself) but he was well behaved and played Pokemon Go while he followed us around. At the end we went to Toys R Us and he bought a pack of Pokemon cards with his pocket money. Then we round to see friends to celebrate a birthday. Elliott has spent time with the other children there before (Gus, Evan, Beth and Emma) and had a lot of fun, particularly with Gus). We all went to the fireworks display at Cantley Park in Wokingham which was really good and they played the Star Wars music during it. Then it was back to Beth and Emma's house where they played some Fifa on the Playstation and watched Boxtrolls before Elliott put on his pyjamas and had a snooze while we finished dinner. Then we drove home and he went straight to bed himself.
Activities We went straight home after school and Elliott had some toast for tea and got changed for his disco. Then we headed back to school for the discos. Elliott was really good while I helped out at the disco and then really enjoyed his disco and did a lot of dancing with Isaac, Aaron, Sam, Cameron and Thomas. After we got home he went straight to bed without having a bath (but he did brush his teeth) because it was getting quite late.
Elliott was good after school today and told me all about his trip to the URE museum where they'd seen lots of ancient Egyptian and Greek archaeological artefacts.
Activities After school we went straight to swimming. He did well and was really pleased with his head above water jump again. After swimming he got a bit upset because he'd realised at the museum he had home learning to do - making his own Canopic Jar. So on the way home from Tescos we picked up a pringles tube, some gold wrapping paper and star stickers to stick on it and some glue. When we got home we wrapped the pringles tube in the wrapping paper and glued it on before Elliott made a horse head with a toilet roll to put on the top as the lid. Then he had some toast for tea and read some of his school book. Then he brushed his teeth and went to bed (he'd had a shower after swimming).
After breakfast we drove back to Wokingham where Elliott had a Dentist's check up. She said his teeth were good but that he should make sure he brushes for 2 minutes twice a day. After the Dentists we drove back to the new house in Arborfield and had sandwiches for lunch. After lunch Elliott helped me to unpack and also rode his bike around the field. Then Graham Jenkins came round to see us on his bike so he showed Elliott some good cycling spots around Arborfield. Then Elliott showed me the playgrounds and the cycling spots he'd found before we had chicken fajitas for tea. Then it was bath time and he brushed his teeth for 2 minutes. Then he watched some Steve Backshall on the iPad before bed time.
After breakfast we had a lazy morning and we talked about respect for home learning. Elliott talked about not taking the last biscuit but asking anyone else if they want it first and I talked about people not having the same opinion but being able to agree that it's ok to have a different opinion. He made a poster showing someone saying "Pokemon sucks" and someone else saying "that's ok", and someone offering around the last biscuit. We had crackers with cheese for lunch. After lunch we went to Southampton and looked around the shops. We bought some new sports clothes and also caught a lot of Pokemon as there are Halloween bonuses at the moment. After we got home he had his bath before we had fish and chips for tea. Then he cleaned his teeth and went to bed.
Elliott was good today and although he was very excitable with Harry Higgins he knew when it was fine to be silly and when it was better to be a bit calmer (for example when walking through Salisbury).
Activities
After breakfast we headed in to Salisbury and met Harry and Matt Higgins at the skate park by Salisbury College. The boys did some scootering in the skate park for a while and then went Pokemon hunting in the park. Then we walked in to the middle of Salisbury and picked up a lot of Pokemon on the way and had some Gym battles:
After we got to Salisbury we had some drinks in Boston Tea Party and then met Granny and went to Pizza Express for lunch, where Elliott had his normal dough balls, pasta burro and chocolate brownie:
The boys were pretty well behaved during lunch and managed to keep the madness down to a minimum. After lunch Granny went to see an art exhibition in Salisbury Museum while we walked back to the cars in the park by Salisbury College playing more Pokemon Go as we went:
After we arrived back a the cars Harry and Matt Higgins went home and Elliott and I popped back to Salisbury town centre for hair cuts and to pick up Granny. Then we headed back to Granny's house for tea (Elliott had some ham sandwiches). Then it was time for his bath, before he brushed his teeth and then did some reading and iPad watching before bed time.
Activities After swimming we drove straight to Granny's house in Downton. Unfortunately the journey took quite a long time due to traffic hold ups and a road in the New Forest being closed so after we arrived he had a quick snack (biscuits), bed time squash, brushed his teeth and then it was straight to bed.
After football we headed home via Sainsburys where Elliott had a ham and cheese toastie. Elliott was very happy that he'd headed the ball in football and had enjoyed the game even though Panthers lost. After we left Sainsburys we went to the the new house where Elliott's room was ready for him apart from we haven't put any posters or pictures up yet. He was pleased with his new room and that it was quite big. After he'd played with some of his Lego toys for a while we went to a friends house for tea with John, Ruth, Alice and Hetty. Elliott had fun and the children had chicken, beans and chips for tea. As we stayed a little later he had a snooze in his pyjamas in the spare room there before we headed home.
