Rain

General 

Elliott was good after school today

Activities

After I'd picked him up from the childminder we went home for toast and he watched Arthur. After Arthur he started making an animation movie with Lego with his new Lego animation app. He had a break from his movie making to have a bath and then finished his movie after the bath. His movie was called Rain. Then he read some of his school book "Charge" and then it was time for bed.

WASMA rehearsal

General 

Elliott was really good after school today. He also said he'd got a house point at school today for his knowledge of Viking shields after this weekend's home learning. Mrs Davies told him he knew something she didn't - about Viking shield walls and how soldiers popped out form them to attack people and then popped back in.

Activities

He had his WASMA rehearsal after school today until 5.30pm so didn't get back until quite late. He had some toast after getting in and then a bath. After his bath he made a movie using his new Lego Animation app and then it was bed time.

Swimming and football

General 

Elliott was really good after school today. 

Activities

After school we went home for some sandwiches and toast before heading to swimming. He was quite shy to begin with as it was a different swimming class to normal and stood by the side watching but after a while he got in and afterwards he'd enjoyed it. Then we headed to football training where they practiced distribution from goal kicks and how midfield and forwards should head to the same side of the pitch as the ball after it's been rolled out - definitely a good idea after Saturday's match. He did pretty well but I think was a bit over tired. Then it was home for a bath, brushing teeth and straight to bed.

The Sladens

General 

Elliott was good today, apart from at lunchtime when he was quite stubborn about eating broccoli with his roast. However in the end he did eat his broccoli, just in a different room for some reason (I think it might have been a way to eat it without thinking he'd lost face?)

Activities

In the morning we painted his Dangermouse car (we're still making) with it's first coat of yellow paint and he played with his Star Wars toys, his army soldier toys, his car loop the loop and he had a go at playing the piano. He also watched some Arthur and did his second lot of Maths sums for homework. We had roast lamb for lunch and he ate everything on his plate including, eventually, a good quantity of broccoli.

After lunch he completed his final time of doing the Maths sums for homework and then we visited the Sladens on our way home. Elliott had a lot of fun playing with Charlie. Charlie also introduced him to a new Lego stop motion animation app that he is now keen to use to make an animated film with. Alice was also there and joined in and Poppy came and said hello after getting back from shopping. When we got home after leaving the Sladens we had ham sandwiches and raisins for tea and then he had his bath. After his bath we researched Roman shields for his home learning and he wrote down some facts (and about Viking shields) and then he read some of his school book "Charge" (about Roman soldiers - he said he'd picked it specially) before bed time.

Downton

General 

Elliott was good today although it did take a bit of encouragement for him to get on with his homework (Maths multiplication and division sums to do 3 separate times like last week).

Activities

In the morning we did his first lot of Maths questions before football. This was a bit of a struggle although as soon as he did get on with it he motored through it. Then it was football and apart from getting hit in the face with the ball I thought it was one of Panthers more forgettable games. It was good to see Elliott dribble with the ball for a bit before passing it though when he was playing at the back. After football we had sandwiches for lunch before setting off to visit Granny and Grandpa in Downton.

After we arrived in Downton he showed everyone the Star Wars figures he'd bought with him and also gave Grandpa his birthday card - he'd picked a Spiderman pop-up card which everyone enjoyed. Then we had spaghetti bolognese for tea and he had a bath before we watched Ninja Warrior UK and bed time.

Poe Dameron

General 

Elliott was really good after school today. He had pizza for lunch.

Activities

After school we went to ASDA where we bought a new Poe Dameron action figure with the pocket money he's been saving. We also got the newest Lego Star Wars magazine where he could make a Lego Milennium Falcon. He was very pleased with these. After we got home he made his mini Lego Milennium Falcon and we watched Blue Peter. He had toast for tea. Then it was bath time and after his bath he read some of his new magazine and did the word search. 

Lazarus

General 

Elliott was good after school today. He had pasta and chicken for lunch and had been to the church after lunch where they learnt about Lazarus and made a model of him.

Activities

We went straight home after school for some pre-swimming toast. His swimming lesson went well and after we got home he played Sonic Racing before brushing his teeth and reading some of his Jack Stalwart book with me. Then it was time for bed. 

Training trophy

General 

Elliott was very good after school today. He did come home with an injury slip and had grazed both knees but it was an accident caused by his new "lucky coin club".

Activities

We went straight home after school and we watched some Thunderbirds and we had some toast for tea. Then we went to training where they practiced passing and moving and Elliott did really well and won the new training trophy for doing the best training for Panthers that evening. After we got home he had a quick bath and then it was bed time. 

Snowballs

General 

Elliott was really good today.

Activities

I was woken up by Elliott excitedly telling me about the snow outside and we rushed outside to have a snowball fight before the small amount of snow disappeared. After the snowballs it was breakfast and then Elliott tried his homework times tables sums again and managed them quicker than before. We had a lazy time for the rest of the morning watching some Thunderbirds and playing with Star Wars toys before we had ham sandwiches for lunch.

After lunch Elliott tried his homework times tables again and did them even quicker for the final time. Then we filmed a toy review of some of his Star Wars toys before we all watched The Boy in the Dress from last Christmas. We had roast chicken for tea and Elliott had quite a lot of broccoli with his roast potatoes and chicken. After tea we talked about magnets a bit more and found some videos online of people using magnetic rings to do magic. Then it was bath time and he read some of his school book about "Home Invaders" (including snakes and spiders) and I the next Jack Stalwart chapter to him before bed time.

Magnets

General 

Elliott was mainly good today, although for a period after football he was in one of his not listening moods. However by the end of shopping at Sainsburys he had become more responsive again and was good for the rest of the day.

Activities

After breakfast Elliott did the first part of his homework (he has the same times table sums to do in 3 sessions to see if he can get quicker each time). We also talked about magnets and magnetic fields for his home learning and found a You Tube video to watch about how magnets work. Then it was time for football which was a fairly average week and I thought he played at the back and in goal pretty well. After football we did some food shopping in Sainsburys and to start with he was being quite silly but he started listening when I told him we wouldn't look at toys at the end unless he behaved. After we got home we had ham sandwiches for lunch and he also chose some boxes of raisins in Sainsburys so he had a box for his pudding.

After lunch we went to visit Andrea's Dad and Harry and Jack were there so the boys all had a go flying the Drone which went down very well. They also played together and had fun. After we got home we had chicken fajitas for tea before bath time. After bath time he finished reading "Darth Vader and son" before we watched Ninja Warrior UK for a bit and then I read him the next Jack Stalwart chapter before bed time.

Ninja Warrior UK

General 

Elliott was very good after school today. He said swimming went well and he had fish fingers for lunch.

Activities

After school we popped in to Tescos on the way home and he bought a Star Wars magazine (with free gifts) with part of his pocket money. After we got home we watched some episodes of Ninja Warrior UK and he had toast for tea. After tea he had his bath, his bedtime squash, brushed his teeth and then he read some of "Darth Vader and son" before bed time. 

Russian dolls

General 

Elliott was really good after school today.

Activities

After school we went home for toast before his swimming lesson. I also gave him his presents from Moscow - Russian dolls and a big, 4 colour Moscow pen. He seemed pleased with both of his presents and used the pen to do some writing. Then it was off for his swimming lesson which went well. After swimming he had a shower and after we got back he watched an episode of Arthur and an episode of Dengineers before getting changed in to his pyjamas. Then he read some of his school book about animal conflicts before brushing his teeth and going to bed. I read him a chapter of the current Jack Stalwart book before he went to sleep.

Stage 4 swimming

General 

Elliott was good after school today.

Activities

After school we went home for a quick snack before his first Stage 4 swimming lesson (which is now at 5pm). His swimming lesson went really well and he has a new instructor called Steph who seems really good. They did a lot of practicing breast stroke legs on front and back. After swimming he had a shower and got changed and we went home for pasta for tea. After tea we watched Dengineers and then he read some of his Ben 10 school book before starting to write the script to a new Star Wars film. Then he brushed his teeth, got in to bed and I read him some Jack Stalwart before it was time to go to sleep. 

New Year's Day bike rides

General 

Elliott was very good again today.

Activities

We woke up at our friends house and Elliott had breakfast (crunchy nut clusters and a bagel) with the girls. Then he played lots with the girls and also he played some Star Wars Battlefront on the Playstation 4 they had. We had an early lunch there as well (bacon, sausages, toast - basically breakfast for quite a few of the grown ups).

After lunch we went for a walk to some green space near our friends house and Beth lent Elliott her bike and helmet so he could ride around the gravel paths with Emma, which he really enjoyed. After the walk we headed home and then headed out again on bikes to the local skate park where he did a lot of circuits and had one fall, but got straight back up with no problem. After the skate park we had some lazy time watching Nativity 3 and playing on the iPad before we had pizza and garlic bread for tea. Then it was bath time and we watched Billionaire Boy on BBC1 before bed time.
