Granny and Grandpa

Elliott was good today. 

Activities

After he woke up Elliott watched some Doctor Who and played with his new Batman verses Superman Lego set. Then it was off to football. He played up front in the first half and was a bit distracted as he was messing around with Harry before the game began and I don't think they managed to click in to game mode immediately. He was subbed for 5 minutes towards the end of the first half. He did play quite well but he wasn't always switched on and the first half was very scrappy finishing 0-0. In the second half he played at the back and concentrated much better and played really well. Panthers lost 2-0 but were the better team and had enough chances to easily win, it was just one of those games where the ball never went in (close missed, good saves, etc). After football we talked about focusing quicker and calming down 10 minutes before the game starts so he can be ready and he was a bit upset (especially when I linked it to Miss Woods talking about being distracted during parents evening). However we talked about how criticism doesn't mean he hadn't done lots of things right as well it was just building on the good things to improve even more. Then we headed home for a quick snack for lunch.

After lunch he had a bath and then Granny and Grandpa arrived with his birthday present (a big version of Thunderbirds 2 and 4). Then, just as he'd opened that present, Graham Jenkins arrived with Harry and Jack and another present (a spin and move BB8). So he had a lot of fun playing with his new toys and showing Jack and Harry his other toys. Then Graham, Harry and Jack left and we had an early tea of spaghetti bolognese. After tea he practiced his lines as Gojo in the play with Granny, Andrea and me before playing more with his new toys. Then he got ready for bed and watched some of Ant and Dec before brushing his teeth, reading more of "The Iron Man" and then going to bed.
