Elliott was a little up and down after school today. He got quite upset at one point because we couldn't find his snorkel so I sat with him and we talked about whether it was the end of the world and had a hug and he did calm down. He said he had a good day at school again. He also seems to be coughing a lot less.
Activities
After school we went straight to swimming lessons which he enjoyed. After we got home we had a relaxed time watching You Tube toy reviews of Big Hero 6 toys and playing Minecraft before ham and cheese sandwiches for tea. He got upset just before bath time when we couldn't find his snorkel but after calming down was happy again and we read a bit of his book "In the Castle" before bed time.

Elliott verses Elliott
General
Elliott was good after school today. He said he had a good day at school with jacket potato and beans for lunch. He also said he enjoyed street dance.
Activities
On our way to football training we went to Asda to get changed and have tea. Elliott had a ham and cheese toastie. Football training was very cold but he wrapped up warm. They did the numbers exercise and when it was Elliott's turn he was up against Elliott from the Tigers team and their part lasted for a long time. He should have won as the other Elliott hand balled it on the line to stop a goal, but they let them both play on and in the end the other Elliott scored first, but both boys did really well and Elliott used his skills to dribble round the other Elliott several times. After we got home it was time for a quick bath and then bed time.

Sam's name dedication service
General
Elliott was very good today.
Activities
After pick up we went to Sam's name dedication service at Wokingham Baptist Church. This was quite a modern church service and the name dedication part was very quick. After the name part Elliott went upstairs to a little group session for 5 to 8 year olds (with me) where they talked about making choices and how sometimes the right choice is the most difficult action to take. They used the example of story of the person who build their house on firm foundations and the person who built their house on sand and how the house on sand was easier to build but got blown down. The children then built their own house with firm foundations out of Lego or house with shaky foundations using building blocks. Elliott very much enjoyed building a Lego house. After this the service had downstairs had finished and we had coffee with some other friends of Sam's parents who have 2 little girls (Alice and Hetty) and Elliott showed them how to build lots of shapes with his Rubix Snake. After coffee we went to Sam's grandparents house down the road for buffet lunch and Alice and Hetty also came so they all played together very nicely and enjoyed some cake. At the lunch he also said hello to Sam who was fascinated with him.
After lunch we went home and had a relaxed late afternoon and evening. Elliott watched some Big Hero 6 films on You Tube and played with Ben 10 toys .We had spaghetti bolognese for tea, bath time was very smooth and before bed time he read some of his animal encyclopedia to find out more about giraffes and koalas.

The Penguins of Madagascar
General
Elliott was good again today. He did wake in the middle of the night complaining his ear hurt but after some calpol and comforting he went to back to sleep quickly. In the morning I phoned the nurse who advised to keep an eye on him for the next 48 hours and book an appointment if things got worse. However he said his ear hardly hurt for the rest of the day, although he was still coughing. I gave him more cough mixture during the day and some more calpol before bed time.
Activities
In the morning we went to see The Penguins of Madagascar at Odeon Kids Club in Bracknell with Andrea and we all really enjoyed it. Afterwards we had a quick look around the shops before heading home for sandwiches for lunch.
After lunch we watched an episode of Horrible Histories about love rats (Henry VIII, Cleopatra, William the Conqueror and Emperor Nero). Then we all went for a short jog. After the jog Elliott rode his bike in the yard and around a nearby cul-de-sac before we came in for chicken fajitas for tea. After tea it was bath time, he read "I am Batman" and watched some Team Titans on the iPad before bed time.

Football training
General
Elliott was good today. Right at the end of football he blocked a hard shot and was upset because the ball hurt which was a shame because he enjoyed the rest of the session. Also his cough has got louder and just before bed time he said his ear was hurting so I'll monitor that.
Activities
In the morning we went to football training at Woodford Park. Luckily we were able to borrow some shin pads and there were about 20 boys there including Adam, James and Javier. They did some agility exercises to begin with and then some passing and tackling exercises and Elliott really got in to them and his passing is really improving and getting quicker:
After the exercises they played a game and Elliott played at the back and in goal. He did some good tackling and some good passing but was a bit tired by the time they played. Also some of the boys had boots on which made it easier for them on the grass so by the time he blocked the shot and got hurt he'd had enough and we left just as the session was finishing. After we got home we had pasta and sausages for lunch.
After lunch we watched a Scooby Doo movie on DVD and then it was time for his swimming lesson. There were only 4 people at his swimming lesson and they practiced on their fronts and their backs. He enjoyed the lesson and afterwards had a shower. After we got home we made pancakes for tea and he especially enjoyed watching me flip the pancakes. Then he got changed for bed and read his school book ""Hola-Board Havoc" to himself before watching Teen Titans on the iPad in bed. Just before I said good night he told me his ear was hurting but he went to sleep quickly and didn't seem to be in too much discomfort.

Reading Musem
General
Elliott was really good today.
Activities
In the morning we caught the train to Reading where we met Granny at the station. Then we headed off to the toy shop and Elliott chose some Ben 10 and Big Hero 6 toys for his birthday presents from Granny. After that we went for lunch at Pizza Express and Elliott had his normal dough balls, burro pasta and chocolate brownie combination. During lunch he also showed Granny how Minecraft works on the iPad.
After lunch we to Reading Museum where Elliott did a printing activity where he drew round a rabbit stencil on some polystyrene and then painted the polystyrene before printing it on paper. He got quite into it to start with although towards the end of the session he'd had enough. After the activity we had some tea at the Museum and Granny bought him a new children's ring before she left to go home. We had a quick look around the Oracle before we also caught the train home. After we got home we had cheese on toast for tea before he had a bath and read some more of his Ben 10 book "all that glitters". Finally he watched some more Ben 10 Omniverse on the iPad before going to sleep.

No swimming
General
Elliott complained about a sore tummy today both in the morning and after school. Before school he said his tummy hurt too much for him to go to school but after talking it over he said he was fine to go to school if I gave Mrs Davies a note so she could phone me if his tummy got really bad. He managed the whole day though. After school he said his tummy hurt too much for swimming so we had a rest from swimming this week and relaxed for the evening after school. I think his tummy still hurts a bit from being winded last night but suspect he is a bit tired after hectic weekend and Monday. He had a jacket potato with cheese for lunch.
Activities
After school we watched some Teen Titans and played Top Trumps. We also read his school book and looked at his art work that he brought home from school (to clear out his tray before parents evening). He had ham and cheese wraps for tea before a leisurely bath and bed. Hopefully he will be nicely rested for tomorrow.

Goal post collision
General
Elliott was good after school today and enjoyed Street Dance, during which his team won. He had sausages and mash for lunch.
Activities
We went to Costa Coffee in Woodley for tea and to get changed for football training after Street Dance. Elliott had a ham and cheese toastie. Football training was good except right at the beginning Harry accidentally kicked the ball into Elliott's stomach and winded him and right at the end Elliott accidentally ran in to the goal post. After we got home he had a quick bath and then it was straight in to bed.

Science Museum
General
Elliott was much better today. He did pick his lips in the morning and made them bleed again just as they were getting better but other than that he was in good spirits today. And after that I made sure he was using his Lypsyl throughout the day.
Activities
In the morning we watched some Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before Elliott did all his homework in one go, which was really good. His home learning this week has been making a tally of how many times he sees different birds and so we looked out the windows for different birds and filled in the tally chart (including some tallies for birds we'd see yesterday).
Then it was off to The Science Museum in London where we met up with Graham and Anthea Lannoy and Andrea (who had been visiting her Grandad). We started by looking at the space exhibition which included a life size replica of the moon landing vehicle that Elliott really liked. He also found a touch screen display that showed pictures of Mars which he was enjoying looking at. Then we went in to a room that had lots of cars, trains and planes from different eras which was interesting. After that we had a packed lunch with cheese and ham rolls:
After lunch we watched a 3D Imax show called "Under The Sea" in the Imax cinema there which was brilliant. It was very immersive to watch and it made us jump a couple of times but Elliott really enjoyed it and particularly liked wearing his 3D glasses. After the cinema we went to the Launch Pad section which has lots of activities for children. While we were there we also caught a 20 minute show about how rockets worked which really did include some controlled, small explosions to show everyone how hydrogen reacts with fire to fuel rockets. After a bit more time in the Launch Pad section we said our good byes and headed back home for pasta and sausages for tea. After tea it was bath time and then another chapter of his Jack Stalwart book before be time.

Panthers verses Dads
General
Elliott was a bit up and down today. At times he was really good, especially when we went to see Alice and Fi Read, but at other times he was a bit testy. He also has a bite on his arm which he was disproportionately upset about just before bed time.
Activities
In the morning before football Elliott was fine until it was time to get dressed and then he was a bit difficult about getting ready. However once we'd been to football he really enjoyed playing the Dads, although it was a shame there was no peer opposition to play. After football we dropped in to Decathlon on the way home and bought some new shin pads. For lunch we had Roast Pork and he ate quite well, including broccoli, but didn't finish his meat and was a bit sulky when asked to see if he could eat more - even though I tried to be light hearted about it.
After lunch we went to visit the Reads. When we first got there Jo and Alice were out at a concert so Elliott spent a long time playing with Fi and they got on really well. Fi was making balloon animals and then Elliott showed her Minecraft while Fi showed Elliott a bit of junior programming she was learning on a laptop. They also chased each other around and had a lot of fun. After Jo and Alice got home we had beef burgers for tea and then Elliott showed the girls his street dancing and they showed him their ballet dancing. He also almost sang to them but got a bit bashful at the last minute. After we got home it was bath time and then bed time and he read a bit of his Jack Stalwart book. Unfortunately he also got quite upset about his bite (on his wrist) after spotting it after his bath. Eventually I managed to get some Savlon cream on it and also some moisturiser on his dry shins but it wasn't easy and he was upset for a while. Fortunately by the time he went to bed he was much happier.

Ben 10 magazine
General
Elliott was really good after school today and was having lots of fun playing football when I went to pick him up.
Activities
On our way home we dropped in to Tescos and Elliott bought a Ben 10 magazine with some of his pocket money. After we got home he read the cartoon strip in his magazine and also did the word search in it. He had crackers for tea before bath time, some reading (a few sentences of his Ben 10 books that he'd taken to show and tell) and then bed time.

Street Dance
General
Elliott was really good after school today and said he'd had a good day at school.
Activities
There was a new teacher at swimming today (a man) and Elliott did a very good front crawl during the lesson. When we got home Elliott played with Lego and did the first 4 sentences of his homework really well. He had toast with ham and cheese for tea before we did some street dancing to songs from "now that's what I call a party". Then it was bath time and after his bath we read some of his school book about training for sports.
