Science Museum

General

Elliott was much better today. He did pick his lips in the morning and made them bleed again just as they were getting better but other than that he was in good spirits today. And after that I made sure he was using his Lypsyl throughout the day.

Activities

In the morning we watched some Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before Elliott did all his homework in one go, which was really good. His home learning this week has been making a tally of how many times he sees different birds and so we looked out the windows for different birds and filled in the tally chart (including some tallies for birds we'd see yesterday).

Then it was off to The Science Museum in London where we met up with Graham and Anthea Lannoy and Andrea (who had been visiting her Grandad). We started by looking at the space exhibition which included a life size replica of the moon landing vehicle that Elliott really liked. He also found a touch screen display that showed pictures of Mars which he was enjoying looking at. Then we went in to a room that had lots of cars, trains and planes from different eras which was interesting. After that we had a packed lunch with cheese and ham rolls:

After lunch we watched a 3D Imax show called "Under The Sea" in the Imax cinema there which was brilliant. It was very immersive to watch and it made us jump a couple of times but Elliott really enjoyed it and particularly liked wearing his 3D glasses. After the cinema we went to the Launch Pad section which has lots of activities for children. While we were there we also caught a 20 minute show about how rockets worked which really did include some controlled, small explosions to show everyone how hydrogen reacts with fire to fuel rockets. After a bit more time in the Launch Pad section we said our good byes and headed back home for pasta and sausages for tea. After tea it was bath time and then another chapter of his Jack Stalwart book before be time.
