Salisbury Museum

General

Elliott was really good today.

Activities

We had a lazy morning playing with Thunderbirds toys and re-paining the Dangermouse car a final coat of yellow (we're going to finish making it at the weekend). Then we headed out to Salisbury with Grandpa and met Granny in Pizza Hut where we had a buffet lunch that he enjoyed.

After lunch Grandpa went home and we went to buy some new school shoes with Granny. Elliott's feet were measured as size one and half and width F and he chose some pilot themed shoes which also have lights in them. After the shoe shop we went to Salisbury Museum which has had a re-vamp. He found it really interesting, particularly 4 skeletons that had been excavated of Bronze Age, Iron Age and Roman people. There were also lots of activities to do including an archaeology station that he really liked, where he sorted found artefacts into different groups, looked at different materials under a microscope and matched animal bones to the animals they were from. He also wore the archaeologist deer stalker hat while doing this:

He also enjoyed seeing some of the other items in the museum (particularly some leg irons and guns) and he liked pulling out drawers to see things where he could. In the shop on the way out we bought a book about Roman Briton aimed at Key Stage 2 and after we got home we read about Boudicca and Roman armies in his new book. Then we watched Blue Peter and he had toast for tea before his bath time. After his bath he brushed his teeth and I started reading a new Jack Stalwart book to him set in Cambodia.
