Farmer Elliott

Sleep

Elliott woke at 6.30am this morning.

He had a nap of about an hour in the car after lunch as we travelled back to Wokingham.

He went to bed at 7.30pm though was singing to himself (very sweetly) for about 20 minutes after I left his bedroom.

Food

Elliott had Special K oats mix for breakfast.

He had sausages, new potatoes, and baked beans fopr lunch and did really well with this, and sat down straight away today. However he didn't want a yoghurt for pudding.

For tea he had crumpets and a tiny bit of marmalade on them.

He had some big snack-a-jack cakes (barbeque) at 4.30pm as a snack.

Toilet

Elliott had 1 "dirty" nappy in the morning that was quite solid.

He sat on the toilet well during nappy changes and today he did a wee in the toilet before his bath.

He also asked to go to the toilet just after lunch as we were getting ready to go back to Wokingham and he did a wee then.

On all occasions he now pulls out some toilet roll after each wee and then puts it in the toilet after he'd finished but before flushing.

Naughtiness

He was good all day today overall.

There was so delaying tactics in getting ready to go places (running into another room, "jus one more ...", etc) but not enough to warrant a time out as he responded to a 1, 2, 3 count very quickly each time.

I think maybe he likes to feel it's his decision with timings, etc, so am now going with a "do you remember you agreed we'd do x in 5 minutes, so now it's time to do x" (which he did).

Activities

We spent the first part of the day playing with bouncey balls, doing jigsaws and watching Peppa Pig. We also got out a farm with animals that I used to play with and he spent ages playing with this and was getting really imaginative (e.g. he'd say the horse was asking the cow if he could come into the house!)

Then we went to Tescos to do some light shopping and to have a walk about. I gave him the choice of sitting in the trolley or holding my hand and going where Daddy needed to go in Tesocs (only needed a basket for the shop). He went for the hand option and was really well behaved until just before the end when he did start trying to go in opposite directions. Anyway once I'd reminded him that it would be the trolley if he stopped behaving he was really good again until we'd finished.

After lunch we drove back to Wokingham and once we'd arrived and he'd woken up we went for a wander into the park where there was a lot of running, racing and chasing!

When we got back we watched some Mio Mao (Channel 5 children's show about cats), read lots of books (though his attention span was on the shorter side so we didn't maange to finish any apart from Monkey Puzzle properly) and played with cars and a toy aeroplane.

Art installation

Sleep

Elliott woke at 6.30am this morning.

He got through the day with no nap at all and he didn't seem like he needed one.

He went to bed at 7pm and fell asleep pretty quickly!

Food

Elliott had Special K oats mix for breakfast.

He had roast chicken, roast potatoes, new potatoes, broccoli and carrots for lunch with a biscuit for pudding. He eat his roast really well (apart from the carrots) - although there were some issues getting him to sit down for his lunch initially.

For tea he had toast with a yoghurt pudding.

He had some marmalade cake around 4pm as a snack.

Toilet

Elliott had 2 "dirty" nappies in the morning quite close to each other. They were both quite runny as well.

He sat on the toilet well during nappy changes and today he did a wee in the toilet both before his bath and straight after. He also pulled out a few pieces of toilet roll after each wee and then put it in the toilet after he'd finished but before he flushed.

Naughtiness

Elliott was generally well behaved today but he was very difficult around lunch time with no warning. He suddenly decided that he really didn't want lunch even though he'd been given plenty of warning ("10 minutes until lunch", etc). He then threw a tantrum including collapsing on the floor very dramatically upset. I ignored this (though discreetly made sure he wasn't banging his head on the floor or similar). After a few minutes he calmed down a bit, though still refused to have lunch. So I gave him a time out and after that he eventually sat down and then eat his lunch with no problems at all. After lunch, however, I explained again when he had been badly behaved and he apologised this time.

Activities

We spent the first part of the day playing with various toys and generally having fun with balls, controlled running, etc.

Then we went to Sailsbury for a while where we looked at possible birthday presents for Elliott. We also dropped in on Granny very briefly in the Cathedral to say hello - and there was an art installation of lots of bottles of water in lots of racks so we had some fun looking at this.

After lunch he did some counting practice going up and down the stairs, he watched some Peppa Pig, he played with castles with me (a lot), we read some Thomas stories, he did some jigsaw puzzles (very independently) and there was lots of imaginative play centred around cake, ice cream and bedtimes for various teddy bears, etc.

He also spent 15 minutes watching and joining in with Grandpa playing the piano.

He also helped me to test and fit a new bigger car seat I've got for him ready for our journey back to Wokingham tomorrow.

Grandpa's birthday

Sleep

Elliott woke this morning really early at 5.30am, having gone to bed at 7pm the night before.

He did have a nap as we travelled down to Downton after lunch and he was quite tired anyway from his early morning I think, so he fell asleep in the car for about an hour.

I decided to put him to bed at 7.30pm to make up for the nap and try and counter too early a start tomorrow morning but it will be interesting to see what time he does wake up!

Food

Elliott had bran flakes for breakfast.

He had sausages, chips and peas (not very many) for lunch with an attempted apple pudding (one mouthful that didn't stay in long!) and got on with eating straight away.

For tea he had spaghetti bolognese at Granny and Grandpa's house with a yoghurt pudding.

He had toasted tea-cakes as a snack around 4pm.

Toilet

Elliott had 1 "dirty" nappy in the morning. However he was also very unexpectedly and suddenly sick about an hour after this. It was entirely liquid based with some phlegm, and he seemed totally fine before and immediately after, so I wondered if that might be because of a build up of mucus with his cold.

He sat on the toilet well during nappy changes and before bath time - and he did a wee straight after bathtime when he asked immediately if he could do a wee wee on the toilet. So I spent some time explaining and encouraging him that he can ask like that even when he has his nappy on during the day. Hopefully this will help, but I also thought it might now be good to keep asking him fairly regularly if he needs a wee!

Naughtiness

No time outs needed today and he was pretty good.

There was some mind changing over whether to watch Peppa Pig or Postman Pat in the morning, but it wasn't very serious so I just stuck Peppa Pig on after the 5th time he changed his mind and he seemed fine with it.

Also at one stage he found a coin on the floor and started throwing it, but I explained why that was bad and, although he pulled some quite funny facial expressions, he took it on board, apologised and then very cutly put the coin in his trouser pockets!

Activities

Due to the early start we spent the first half hour or so of the day watching Peppa Pig (when she'd been selected.

Then after breakfast we played with cars for a bit and we were about to go to the park when Elliott was sick so I thought it would be better to stay inside in case.

So then we did some animal recognition with Gruffalo cards and books before cracking out the trains!

After lunch we went down to see Granny and Grandpa as it was Grandpa's birthday last week. When we arrived Elliott was in good spirits after his rest and he was brilliant with remembering to say "happy birthday" to Grandpa when he handed over cards and presents!

The rest of the afternoon until tea was spent looking at a book about changing seasons which has pictures that change, playing with his dog and monkey puppets (he did a full bedtime for his monkey puppet including reading him a quick story!), playing with his castles set, playing the piano, playing with his aeroplane, kicking around his ball, playing catch with his ball, etc. Basically he was in a lively but sensible mood and was great fun.

Swimming

Sleep

Elliott did have a quick nap in the end around 2pm as he was quite worn out from swimming in the morning. However I kept this nap to only 40 minutes so that it wouldn't be disruptive keeping to his earlier bed time.

He went to bed at 7.15pm with no problems.

Food

Elliott had bran flakes for breakfast.

He had fish fingers, toast, and peas (not very many) for lunch with a yoghurt pudding and got on with eating straight away.

For tea he had crumpets and I tried pieces of cut up apple but he was not interested.

He had a few fig roll biscuits during the day.

Toilet

Elliott had 1 "dirty" nappy in the morning.

He sat on the toilet well during nappy changes and before bath time - and he did a clear, quite long wee before bathtime. He was also playing with the toilet paper so I explained it was for wiping his bum after pooing - which he said straight back though not sure he really understood.

Naughtiness

No time outs needed today and he was really good overall.

Activities

After breakfast and some building and playing with train tracks we went swimming in Carnival Pool. This went really well and Elliott wanted to stay in for about an hour. We did some actual swimming with me holding him underneath - and during this he was kicking his legs when he was on his front and his back. We did some water sliding on the little elephant water slide. And because it was toddler swim time we also had some fun splashing around with a watering can (and at one point Elliott watered the elephant water slide). Anyway he seemed really comfortable in the water and there was lots of giggling (especially with the watering can) - and he was pretty exhausted by the time we got home for lunch.

After lunch and his short nap we went out to look around the shops a little and go to the park. He was really well behaved for this and this was really good fun.

Then it was back for a an episode of Charlie and Lola before some Gruffalo card recognition, cars and indoor football, chasing, etc.

Again lots of really imaginative play today including pretend phone calls, lots of pretend food handed over and some story telling scenarios when we were playing with trains and cars.

No photos from today this time mainly because only swimming ones would be interesting but they're not allowed.

Back to Wokingham

Sleep

Elliott woke at about 7.30am.

He had a nap at 2pm for about an hour.

He went to bed at 8.00pm with no problems.

Food

Elliott had Special K oats flakes for breakfast.

He had sausages, potatoes, peas and raisins for lunch. Not huge joy with the peas but he did well with the rest.

For tea he had toast with marmite and I tried a banana, which I did get him to put in his mouth, but unfortunately it slipped back out into his bib and from then on he recoiled away from it in horror! I did try to get him to have another taste but I didn't want to make meal time too much of a battle ground so in the end I decided against using a time out for motivation.

For snacks today he had bread sticks.

Toilet

Elliott had 1 "dirty" nappy in the morning.

More sitting on the toilet at nappy changes and before bath but no joy today. He did make quite a cute noise when he was trying to squeeze a wee though before bath, but not sure how much that was for effect!

Naughtiness

He did have one time out today for not getting ready to go out quickly enough - we were onto the second "jus one more Octonauts" and I'd asked him to promise the one before was the last one. He was really disciplined about the time out though, and when he got down he said sorry and went straight to put his shoes on.

Activities

During the morning Elliott wanted to read lots of books at Granny and Grandpa's before we left. He was patient and let us read all the pages to him. He also had a go at reading some of them back by using the pictures to make up his own story along the same lines, which was quite imaginative. His vocabulary seems to be increasing on a daily basis. We also had some fun with his pretend rubber egg with Grandpa.

I left with enough time to get back to Wokingham for swimming and I was hoping to take him but he was coughing a little during the night before and was sneezing a bit during the morning so I decided not to as Carnival Pool always strikes me as a little cold. Hopefully next Monday though.

After lunch and nap we got out the Thomas jig saw at his request and he did the whole thing on his own with no help from me at all - apart from the odd bit of verbal help. He did this pretty quickly and I was really impressed (there are about 16 pieces and it's not completely straightforward). We also went for a wander around the park, but it did start raining so we made our way to Tesco's to get some bread sticks and have a coffee and fruit shute.

Before bath we did some alphabet cards, but he wasn't really in the mood so we got the trains out and had some races.

I think his cold is getting better and he's been a little snotty today so I hope that means it's coming to an end. So far after a few hours asleep I haven't heard him cough so I hope that's a good sign.

Guinea piggies at the Sladens

Sleep

Elliott woke at about 6.30am.

He had a nap at 1.30pm for about an hour and a half.

He went to bed at 8.05pm, and was 5 minutes late as he asked for "just one more story" before switching the light out!

Food

Elliott had Special K oats flakes for breakfast.

He had fish fingers, toast and raisins  for lunch.

For tea he had roast beef, roast potatoes, broccoli and carrots with a yoghurt pudding. He eat all the potatoes and most of the beef, but was not so keen on the broccoli and carrots, though I negotiated a mouthfull of broccoli with him by promising "yog pot" if he eat some.

For snackes he had a rich tea breakfast in the morning and some raisins not eaten at lunch time in the afternoon.

Toilet

Elliott had 1 "dirty" nappy in the morning.

When he had his nappy changed and before his bath I sat him on the big toilet with this seat. This time he did some wee before bath and then flushed the toilet so I praised him lots and made a fuss. As normal he looked at me as though I was mad, but I hope the message that it's good is getting through!

Naughtiness

He was well behaved all day with no need for a time out.

Activities

During the morning Elliott did 3 jigsaws, and again really was doing most of them on his own which was really impressive. We also did some alphabet and number recognition using some books he got for Christmas. There was also an episode of Fireman Sam, some Baby Mozart, playing with cars and banging away at a xylophone. Mid morning we went out to Fordingbridge to the park wrapped up warm. He did a lot of running around in the park (literally around the paddling pool fence), and did some sliding, roundabouting, swinging and a tentative bit of climbing.

After lunch and nap we went to visit the Sladens. He was really interacting with Charlie from the moment we arrived and knew who Charlie was when I told him we were going to see him earlier in the day. They both played with lots of Fireman Sam and Postman Pat toys (including some walke talkies) and Elliott had asked to bring along his balloon from yesterday's party pack which was a hit too. Charlie and Poppy now also have two "guinea piggies" so they got those out and showed them to Elliott. He was a little tentative at first, but he soon seemed fascinated by them, but didn't quite get all the way to touching or stroking them in the end. And later in the afternoon Popply played Elliott her violin which was very sweet and he seemed interested (for a minute or so) and definitely knew it was a violin.

The only other thing to say really is that Elliott had a few coughs and sneezes during the day, nothing that sounded too bad and certainly nothing that slowed him down, but I think he might be developing a cold.

Alice's birthday party

Sleep

Elliott woke at about 7am.

He had a nap in the car on the way from Alice's birthday party (which was near Theale) to Granny and Grandpa's house, and he slept for about 1 hour and a half.

He went to bed at 8pm with no problems.

Food

Elliott had honey nut corn flakes for breakfast.

He had fish piece in breadcrumbs, potatoes and peas for lunch with a yoghurt pudding, though he did not eat many peas.

For tea he had 1 slice of toast with margarine and thinly spread marmite.

At Alice's party he also had some cocktail sausages, a rice crispie chocolate cake and 2 chocolate fingers (more information in the activities section).

Toilet

Elliott had 1 "dirty" nappy in the morning today which was very solid.

I now have a toilet seat for little people so during the morning when he had his nappy changed and before his bath I sat him on the big toilet with this seat. He didn't manage any product, but it did look like he was making an effort and he seemed quite at home on the big toilet. He also flushed the toiled each time he had finished sitting on it.

Naughtiness

He was well behaved all day. At Alice's party he seemed a little reluctant to sit down to eat, but I used the counting to 3 method eventually and he sat down. Once sat down he was very well behaved and in fact asked each time he wanted a new bit of food.

Activities

During the morning we went for a wander around Wokingham and picked up some food shopping. We did this without his push chair and he was very well behaved and held my hand throughout with no complaining. By the end I did have to carry him home, but again he was well behaved.

After lunch we headed straight off to Alice's birthday party which was in a Village Hall near Theale. When we first got there everyone (about 25 kids) was in the hall playing games organised by Jo (musical statues, pass the parcel, ring of roses, etc). There was also a table set up with paper crowns that could be enhanced by sticking on stars, sparkley bits, etc. Elliott was very shy at first and for 5 mintues or so buried his face in my chest. So I took him over to the crafty table, we sat down and I encouraged him to have a play making a crown. He liked the stickers, but wasn't that interested in anything that needed glue or the crown in the end. However he did start watching the games from the safety of this table and spotted both Alice and Fi which I think helped reassure him. So I waited until I thought he seemed comfortable enough and then we started joining in - and I made sure when we joined the circle of kids we were next to Fi so he was next to someone he knows. We took part in pass the parcel and (kind of) in a dancing competition. He was really shy again at first when we joined the circle, but as pass the parcel went on he became more comfortable. Then it was time for nibbles so we all filed into another room. At first he was reuctant to sit down, but through gentle persuasion and eventually counting to 3 method he sat next to Fi and seemed pretty happy. He then unfortunately ignored the grapes / carrott batons, etc and went straight for the cocktail sausages. And then he asked if he could have a rice crispie chocolate cake and a couple of chocolate fingers and I thought it would be ok seeing as it was a party! Next it was time for Alice's cake so the lights were dimmed and in came a cake shaped like a princess with candles. Alice blew out the candles and we all sang happy birthday - Elliott I don't think knows it, but he looked pretty curious throughout and giggled when the candles were blown out. After the cake it was back to the hall. Following the chocolate possibly, and with increased confidence, Elliott started playing with 2 other little boys at the party (Nathaniel and Tom) and they had some races and kicked / threw around some balloons. I was really pleased to see that he was now comfortable enough to interact with new acquaintances through his own initiative and, of course, to see he was having lots of fun. I'm not sure how much the chocolate contributed to the increased energy and confidence, though there was quite a lot of other kids who went pretty bonkers themselves after the food. I also wondered if Elliott might have joined in with the games from the start if the games had come after the nibbles. Anyway after about quarter of an hour of play time it was time to go and Elliott left with a party bag complete with slice of cake, box of raisins, bouncy ball and balloon to blow up.

When we got to Granny and Grandpas there was time for Elliott to complete his Thomas jigsaw pretty much on his own before tea - and that was really impressive as he hardly needed any help from me at all. After tea we blew up the balloon from the party bag and played with that for a while, before Grandpa produced a blow up Mr Blobby that Elliott found hilarious. We even  both read Mr Blobby a bedtime story as part of storytime before sleep, but I made sure Mr Blobby disappeared before the final story to make sure Elliott was really calm before I left him to go to sleep.

Bob the Builder

Sleep

Elliott slept well and with minimal fuss after lunch. He went and got straight into bed at about 1.45pm and had a medium nap for about an hour and a half.

He went to bed at 8pm with no problems.

Food

Elliott had toast for breakfast.

He had fish fingers, (not very many) potatoes and (even fewer) peas for lunch with a yoghurt pudding and got on with eating straight away.

For tea he had corn flakes.

He also had 2 biscuits during the day as I wanted to ration them, however in the afternoon he was on the verge of throwing a tantrum for more until I distracted him with a football.

Toilet

Elliott had no "dirty" nappies today while with me.

He sat on his potty well during nappy changes and before bath time - and another wee before bathtime which was brilliant and got lots of kisses. Hopefully he's beginning to get there. Anyway my new toilet seat should arrive soon so can get into the actual sitting on toilet routine.

Naughtiness

No time outs needed today and he was really good overall, especially with workmen in the house - but he did come close to a strop over biscuits as mentioned above.

Activities

We had a quiet day today because 2 men came round first thing to finally fix my heating. Unfortunately this took them about 3 hours, which meant we missed our swimming slot - this was disappointing. But we did manage to venture outside to the park after his nap for a little exercise.

Anyway normal mix of toys, books and TV during the day. Particularly of note I think was that Elliott got very good at identifying animals on the gruffalo cards he got for Christmas. These are based on The Gruffalo and have lots of animals for snap / rhyming snap when he is a little older, but he really loved them.

He also became fascinated by the men fixing the boiler at one point who I referred to as "Bob The Builder" - and he watched what they were doing for ages, though wouldn't approach them too closely.

And there was a very proud moment just before bed for me because I've bought him some batman pyjamas and it was his first time wearing them.

No photos from today this time.

Quiet day

Elliott woke at about 7.30am.

We deliberately stayed in during the morning today so he could reach his afternoon nap without having fallen asleep in the car and he had a really long nap for 2 hours from around 1.45pm.

He went to bed at 8pm with no problems.

Food

Elliott had oats mix for breakfast.

He had sausages, potatoes and brocoli for lunch with a yoghurt pudding, though he was reluctant to eat at first

For tea he had fish fingers and bread and butter.

He also had some biscuits during the day, including a chococolate biscuit (sorry, Christmas time treat!)

Toilet

Elliott had 1 "dirty" nappy in the morning today which was quite solid.

He sat on his potty well during nappy changes and before bath time but unfortunately back to no product.

Naughtiness

Because he was refusing to sit down for his lunch Elliott had a time out to encourage him to site down and eat. This seemed to work, although he ended up sitting down for the time out longer than he had to, I think in some kind of battle of wills - as if to say "I'll get down when I'm ready Daddy". However he seemed to understand why he was having a time out though.

Activities

We had a quiet day today, staying in all day and not going anywhere. We played with loads of different toys, games and jigsaws, watched some Beebies and predictably Fireman Sam. Elliott was generally well behaved and relaxed.

One thing I noticed today during Elliott's bath is that he has got a lot better at actually brushing his teeth a little, rather than just chewing the tooth brush, so I continued to try and encourage this.

Seaside

Elliott woke at about 7am with one interuption during the night because plinky plonks doggy had fallen out of his bed.

Elliott slept for 40 minutes in the car on the way back from the sea sidehad and then after lunch he went to bed for an hour and a half around 1.30pm and was quiet, however I'm not convinced he was asleep for much of this time!

He went to bed at 8pm with no problems.

Food

Elliott had oats mix for breakfast.

He had fish fingers and toast for lunch.

For tea he had chicken breast in breadcrumbs, baby potatos and peas with a yoghurt pudding. He didn't eat many of the peas or potatoes, but ate the chicken.

He also had some biscuits during the day, including one of the ones we cooked together yesterday.

Toilet

Elliott had 2 "dirty" nappies today, one in the morning and one early evening, both of which were quite solid.

He sat on his potty well during nappy changes and before bath time but unfortunately back to no product.

Naughtiness

Elliott was little frantic and I think overtired before his tea today and when it came to sitting at the table to eat he was reluctant and naughty. So after 3 or 4 minutes of shouting and play acting I gave him a time out which helped him focus on the need for tea. However I do think this was partly due to his nap not being as consistent as ideal today, and again just before his bath he was very excitable, although easier to control and in the end a good boy!

Activities

In the morning we went to Hengistbury Head with Granny for a wander by the sea. Elliott really enjoyed this and was running around a lot over the sand and pebbles. We also went past a farm area with some cows which he enjoyed until one of them unfortunately mooed a little loundly and frightened him a little. We also all had some drinks in the cafe there, and he had orange in a carton which he didn't squeeze and spill for the first time ever.

After lunch and nap (!?) it was more playtime with Elliott playing with the castles, took kit, cars, the little football, etc and watching more Fireman Sam. He has become a little obsessed with a paricular espisode of Fireman Sam where naughty Norman gets snowed into a cave, so we sa that twice!

We also had a go at the aphabet cards again and I think he is beginning to remember the sounds.

Finally there was lots more imaginative play again today, including a really sweet moment in the car on the way back from the seaside when he pretended to receive a phone call from Charlie and told him he had just been to the seaside.

Baking chocolate chip cookies

Sleep

Elliott woke at about 7.30am again but with no interputions during the night this time.

Elliott had an medium afternoon nap around 1.30pm for about an hour and a half. However he was talking to himself for a while before it went quiet.

He went to bed at 8pm with no problems.

Food

Elliott had oats mix for breakfast.

He had sausage, mashed potato and beans for lunch, with a yoghurt pudding. He eat all his lunch apart from some of the mashed potato. He eat all the yoghurt with no problems.

For tea he had cheese biscuits with margarine and some garlic bread - plus another few satsuma segments afterwards.

He also had some biscuits during the day, including some we cooked together (see activities).

Toilet

Elliott had 3 "dirty" nappies today, all spaced out throughout the day and all of which were quite solid.

He sat on his potty well during nappy changes and before bath time but unfortunately back to no product.

Naughtiness

Elliott had no time outs today and was really well behaved again all day, apart from some shouting in Tescos, but when asked firmly he stopped!

Activities

In the morning we went shopping around the big Tescos with Granny. Apart from some shouting at one stage he was really well behaved and stayed in the trolley. Apart from the shopping visit it was a normal morning of playing with various toys.

In the afternoon, following your example, we baked some chocolate ("chococalate") chip cookies. Elliott helped stir the mixture and add the chocolate chips. And he helped eat the finished cookies as well. He seemed quite interested in the baking, though did wander off a few times. Again there was also a lot of playing with various toys and in particular he got very into putting together the Thomas jigsaw, which he was getting really good at doing.

There was also quite a lot of reading books, where I would read a book to him and then he would "read" it back to me, remembering the basic sotryline and pointing out the content of the pictures, etc. This was really impressive.

Plus there was a lot of imaginative play today with Buzz, castle sets, aeroplanes, etc, some of it quite complex in concept with different toys talking to each other and interacting within storylines.

Finally there was a few episodes of Fireman Sam dotted around the day.

Keep also meaning to say he is getting really good at dressing and undressing himself which I'm sure is your influence but am trying to encourage as much as possible as well.

Sladen Sunday

Sleep

Elliott woke at about 7.30am, however he woke up at about 2am during the night and came to get me, so I went to sit with him in his bed while he went back to sleep.

Elliott had an medium afternoon nap around 2.30pm for about an hour and a half. However he had some trouble going to sleep before his nap.

He went to bed at 8pm with no problems.

Food

Elliott had oats mix for breakfast.

He had roast lamb, potatoes and carrotts for lunch with a yoghurt pudding. He eat all his roast potatoes, had a mouthful of carrott and eat some lamb, but didn't seem as keen on the lamb as normal. He eat all the yoghurt with no problems.

For tea he had toast and a few satsuma segments afterwards.

He also had some biscuits during the day.

Toilet

Elliott had 1 "dirty" nappy that was quite solid.

He sat on his potty well during nappy changes and before bath time, and again he squeezed a wee into his potty before bath time and was congratulated heartily.

Naughtiness

Elliott had one time out today to help him realise it was time for his afternoon nap. He knew exactly what this was for and was very good during the time out - there was no need to restart it for any fiddling, etc. After his time out he went straight to bed, however he did actually have a longer time out than directed, staying on the chair for about a minute extra when he could have got down!

Activities

In the morning we went to visit the Sladens. Elliott had a brilliant time, especially as Charlie had lots of Fireman Sam toys for him to play with. He interacted pretty well with both Charile and Poppy during the morning and was really well behaved - he was sharing really well and letting Charlie show him how various toys worked. And when we left he did very nice fist bumps with Charlie and Poppy!

After his nap we played with some old fashioned wooden building blocks from when I was young and he was really imaginative with them - builiding a train and a car, both really good. We also did a lot of reading - lots of Thomas books. Plus we watched more Fireman Sam, he played with Buzz and some cars quite a bit and he gave Granny a few games of normal sized Connect Four!

Big man in the model village

Sleep

Elliott woke at about 6.30am.

Elliott had an short afternoon nap around 2pm for about an hour.

He went to bed at 8pm with no problems.

Food

Elliott had oats mix for breakfast.

He had marmite sandwiches for lunch and a biscuit for pudding.

For tea he had spaghetti bolognese, garlic bread and yoghurt. He didn't eat all his bolgnese, but did have a good go at finishing it.

He also had some extra biscuits during the day.

Toilet

Elliott had 1 "dirty" nappy that was quite solid.

He sat on his potty well during nappy changes and before bath time but there was no product again.

Naughtiness

Elliott had no time outs today, though was a little hyper just before bed. However a combination of firm tone of voice and counting did the trick.

Activities

In the morning we went to the Corfe Castle model village with Granny and Grandpa. This was really good fun for all of us, and there was life size Connect Four, a nature area, talking life size guards and lots of other features as well as the actual model village. Elliott really enjoyed himself and did a lot of running around. He was paticularly taken with a train made out of wooden logs for little people and was "driving" this a lot. We took his bike with us as well so he did some cycling around the streets of Corfe.

On the way back home we also stopped for a picnic lunch of sandwiches and pink juice.

After his nap we played with the marble run, the play dough (he made 7 lions!), did 3 different jig saws, played with fire engines and other cars, watched some Fireman Sam, played some football, etc. He was in good spirits, though a little over tired just before bed time as referenced above.
