Elliott was good after school today and said at school he and Adam had got on really well.
Activities
After school Elliott went swimming and did really well. After we got home he finished his noun homework and played with Ninja Turtles. Then just before bath time he got out some bongo drums, a recorder and his guitar and we both played different combinations of instruments together. After his bath he read some of his "Doctor, Doctor" school book which is full of jokes and then we watched a some You Tube videos about Canada as part of his home learning.

New Street Dance moves
General
Elliott was good after school today and said he'd had a good day at school and had baked potato with beans for lunch.
Activities
After school I picked Elliott up from Street Dance and he showed me some excellent new moves he'd learnt. We headed off to ASDA where Elliott changed to get ready for football training and we had some tea. Then it was off to football training and Panthers practiced dribbling and shooting before a quick game against Panthers which ended 0-0 with Elliott playing on the right wing. After football training Andrea picked Elliott up and he had a bath and went to bed with no problems as I went to the keeping children safe online session at the Family Centre. This was quite interesting and the most useful part was instructions which tell you how to make different devices safe for use online which I'll email over when it's emailed to me.

Minecraft
General
Elliott was mainly good today. He did get a bit grumpy before homework but after he'd finished his homework we talked about how it took him less time to do the homework than he was grumpy for about doing the homework.
Activities
In the morning we had a lazy time watching ninja turtles and Ben 10, playing Minecraft and building a machine with Lego and he also did almost all of his homework (identifying nouns which he was really good at and did quickly). We had sausages, mash, broccoli and peas for lunch and he had his 4 peas and broccoli with minimal fuss (although he didn't eat all his mash as he said it wasn't as nice as his school lunch mash).
After lunch we went to Monkey Mates and he had a great time running around and was very sweaty by the time we left. On the way home we popped into Andrea's Mum and Dad's house to see Harry and Jack Jenkins again and watched the end of ET with them before Elliott showed them Grimlock and his new blue calcite stone from the museum yesterday. After we got home Elliott finished building a house for me in Minecraft before he had melted cheese on toast with ham for tea. Then it was bath time and after his bath before bed time he read some more of his Jack Stalwart book and we looked up facts about Cannada on the iPad for home learning.

Oxford Museum of Natural History
General
Elliott was really good today even though it was quite a busy day and also involved quite a lot of walking.
Activities
Football in the morning wasn't the best game of the season and I thought Panthers on a better day would have won, but I thought Elliott was as good as ever at the back and thoroughly deserved his man of the match award - number 4 of the season. Having said that I also thought Jackdip was great at making sure everyone got a decent run out and not focusing too much on the result:
After football we headed for Oxford via McDonalds for lunch (Elliott had a nuggets happy meal).
When we got to Oxford we caught the park and ride in to the town centre and then walked to the Natural History museum where we met up with Harry and Jack Jenkins and Izzy and Edward (Izzy is Andrea's god daughter). The museum was really good and had lots of dinosaur and animal skeletons in a smallish space, so was easy to get round:
There was also lots of fossils, rocks and stuffed animals that everyone was allowed to touch:
All in all it was really good fun for all of us:
There was also another museum in the same building called the Pitt Rivers museum that had a lot of historical artefacts from lots of different places in the world and we had a quick look around this but it was a bit dark and all the items were crowded together so we didn't stay long. There were some interesting things to see there though including some real life shrunken heads and a huge totem pole.
After the museums we said goodbye to everyone and on our way out we bought some blue calcite from the museum gift shop because it looks like the same crystals as Diamond Head uses in Ben 10. Then we headed back to Oxford town centre and caught the park and ride back to the car. After we got home Elliott had ham and cheese on toast for his tea before bath time. After his bath he read Chapters 3 and 4 of "Captain Comet and the Purple Planet" and then watched some Ben 10 on the iPad before a smooth bed time.

Tea with Harry and Jack Jenkins
General
Elliott was good after school and said he had a good day. He hadn't remembered to bring his uniform and Woodley Wanderers Panthers football kit outside with him but we did manage to get in to the school and pick them up and he promised he'd try and remember next week.
Activities
I got to school a little early so was able to watch a bit of after school football club which looked really good. It looked a little more relaxed than his Woodley Wanderers football which I thought was a nice alternative. After football we went to Harry and Jack Jenkins house for tea as Andrea is babysitting them while their parents are away. We had pizza for tea and a lot of fun. At once point Elliott showed Harry his street dance moves while Harry showed Elliott his gymnastics moves and then they both tried each others moves. After tea we headed home and on the way stopped off to buy some toothpaste and he chose two Lypsals for his mouth - one for his book bag for school and one for home. He put his home version on with no problem and said he thought it would be ok to use at school so it's in his book bag. Then it was home for bath time and some Ben 10 on the iPad before bed time.

Back stroke
General
Elliott was good today. When I first picked him up he seemed a bit upset about going to swimming, but it eventually became clear it wasn't swimming he was worried about, he didn't want a shower after swimming. So I said he could have a bath at home instead and then everything was fine.
Activities
After school we went to swimming lessons and he did some brilliant back stroke unaided at the end of the lesson. After swimming we went shopping in Tescos and he was really helpful. After we got home he watched some more Teen Titans before ham and cheese on toast for tea. After tea he had his bath and then did the first part of his homework before reading the first part of his gold school book "Captain Comet and the Purple Planet", some of it to himself, and then bed time.

Curiously Cinnamon
General
Elliott was really good again after school. He had ham and sweetcorn pizza for lunch and said he'd had a good day at school. I also discovered his new girlfriend is called Ella.
Activities
After school we went to swimming lessons which went well. After we got home Elliott watched some Teen Titans on the iPad before having Curiously Cinnamon cereal for tea. After tea he read his schoolbook "Race to the Pyramid" very well. I went to the HPSA meeting just before bed time and Andrea put him to bed when he was very good apparently.

Panthers verses Leopards
General
Elliott was good today after school. He said he'd had a good day at school and had a good day with Adam. He also said his new learning partner is his girlfriend.
Activities
After school Elliott played Minecraft while I made him a cheese and ham toastie for tea. After tea we went to football training where Panthers practiced passing before playing a zoned game against Leopards to learn positioning. Now that there is a Tigers team as well Panthers and Leopards train on the same pitch. The game was good and Elliott played at the back for 10 minutes where he tackled and passed really well including tackling Adam a number of times (which he enjoyed). He played on the left for the last 10 minutes and also did well, but unfortunately he didn't get much chance to attack and was mainly defending. After football we rushed home for a quick bath and bed time.

Lego Batman
General
Elliott was mainly good today. However lunch was a bit disappointing as he decided he didn't like his roast pork and so only ate a few slices. However he has had pork a number of times before and eaten it with no problems. He did eat all his roast potatoes and a largish bit of broccoli and 3 sweetcorn. I made sure that lunch didn't turn in to a battle but also I did ask him to eat a bit more meat which he did after a bit of sulking. In the end I found changing the subject and getting on with eating my own meal seemed to move him on.
Activities
In the morning we went to pick him up after his sleepover and he was outside scootering and having fun when we arrived. We all played together for a few hours and Elliott, Harry and Jack were getting on really well. At one point me, Harry and Elliott were having a party dancing and listening to music which was good fun. Then we left and went home for lunch which was roast pork with roast potatoes, broccoli and sweetcorn.
After lunch Elliott did his homework which was re-writing sentences with capital letters and re-arranging words into sentences with capital letters. He did this very well and very quickly and without any help. There is a note saying that homework this term will focus on grammar and they should do it without any help as it relates to the work of their phonics groups. There won't be any spellings to learn this term. After homework we went to the tip to drop off some rubbish and popped in to Andrea's parents on the way home where we saw Harry and Jack again and showed them how to play Lego Batman on the iPad. Then we came home and watched some of Aladdin before bath time. After his bath we talked about nurses for his home learning and he read some more of his Jack Stalwart book to me before I read some more of the book to him.

Sleepover with Harry and Jack Jenkins
General
Elliott was very good today.
Activities
In the morning it was football and Woodley Wanderers Panthers won 7-0 against Wokingham and Emmbrook. Elliott played really well at the back and on the left. When he was at the back he made some really good tackles and interceptions and passed the ball up the pitch nicely. And when he was on the left he scored a really good goal from outside the area. He was still a bit reluctant to come inside and get involved when the ball was on the right but Jackdip gave him some good advice. After football we stopped off in Wokingham on the way home for some shopping before we went home and had ham and cheese toasties for lunch.
After lunch he watched some of the Liverpool verses Sunderland game with me before watching some Teen Titans on the iPad. Then we headed to Graham, Babs, Harry and Jack Jenkins house in Arborfield for his sleepover with Jack and Harry. We all played together there for a while before he had pizza for tea. After we left we got an update to say he'd got ready for bed and gone to sleep nicely.

Demonstrating making a ball with Rubix Twist
General
Elliott was good after school today and said he'd had a good day showing people how he can make a ball with his Rubix Snake. He has also progressed on to one purple book and one gold book now.
Activities
After school we went shopping in Sainsburys and Elliott was really good. After shopping we had a ham and cheese toastie for tea in the Sainsburys cafe before we headed home and watched some of Dragons 2. We also made a new video where Elliott demonstrated how to make a ball out of his Rubix Twist:
After bath time we took turns reading his Jack Stalwart book again before he watched some Ben 10 Omniverse on the iPad and then it was bed time.

Back to swimming
General
Elliott was really good today after school. He said school was ok but he'd had a fight with Charlie about who should be second in command of their gang which he seemed a little pensive about. Adam is in charge it seems. We talked about not fighting.
Activities
After school we went back to swimming lessons and he did really well and tried really hard after telling me they'd talked about New Year's resolutions at school and one of his was to get really good at swimming. After we got home we watched some Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and he had toast with ham and toast with honey for tea. After tea he finished writing his thank you cards and read his school book "The School Concert really well". He had a shower after swimming so he didn't have a bath but after he'd got changed in to his pyjamas we watched a cartoon Batman episode and read some more of his Jack Stalwart secret agent book together.

Monkey Mates
General
Elliott was good today. He did get upset once during football training when he and Fin (who were in a pair) got their ball mixed up with Harry and Javier's ball and he wanted to swap back. He was quite upset (in tears) and we had to take a quick break as it looked like he was beginning to choke breathe, but after talking about it not really mattering and doing deep breathing he was soon back and raring to go. He also talked a bit about being split up again in the car on the way home and having two houses so we talked about how most things in life have a good side and a bad side and how having separated parents was the same. Then we thought of some examples of good and bad sides of other things (like going to school and going to Monkey Mates) and then I asked him what were good things about having separated parents and he had a few ideas (like having two rooms with more space for toys). He also took his antibiotics with no problems.
Activities
After I picked him up we went to Kings Meadow Tescos where we did some clothes shopping and had elevenses. Then we went home and he watched Cbeebeis pantomimes while I did some housework. Then we had past with bacon sauce for lunch and he also had some peas (not a huge amount, but he asked for some.
After lunch he wrote 3 thank you cards really well and then we went to Monkey Mates as I have a couple of free entries that I won in the Christmas Fayre tombola. Monkey Mates was lots of fun and I joined him for some of it (he showed me 3 different ways to get to the big slide). Unfortunately I couldn't join him as much as he asked me to though. Then it was football training which, apart form the moment of upset, was really good and they focused on practicing dribbling and passing. All the boys seemed unusually disciplined today and really listened and Elliott is beginning to look really natural with the ball. At the end they played a quick game and Elliott played in defence and made some really good tackles. Then it was home for a quick tea of toast and a quick bath before bed time.
