Andrea's race for life

General

Elliott was good for all of today.

Activities

In the morning we went to football and he joined in for the whole session. They didn't play a game today but did a lot of racing exercises and he did really well, though a bit like on sport's day looked around quite a lot to see how his opponent was doing and would easily have won if he hadn't. After the session ended we played a kick around for about half an hour with Adam, Adam's Dad, Ethan, Ethan's Mum and a few others - children verses grown ups. This was really good fun, though Elliott got upset a few times about passing, etc. Adam's Dad did a really good job explaining passing, where to stand to be in a good place to be passed to, why sometimes people don't pass, etc, etc to him (and I tried to) and by the end he was running into space really nicely for passes. But he really seemed to enjoy himself today overall and it was good exercise and I'm not sure at this stage it's too big a deal that sometimes he's not quite aware of team work, etc.

After lunch we went to Prospect Park because Andrea was running the 5km race for life. There was lots to do in the field where the start and finish were - bouncy castle, tombolo, Heart FM roadshow, even free Brioche (which went down well). Granny and Grandpa came to join us just before Andrea started her run and we watched Andrea start and finish while enjoying the entertainment on show. After the run we went for tea and drinks with Granny and Grandpa as they are off on holiday tomorrow.
