Elliott was good again today. He did get upset at one point when he was playing as he was frustrated that his toys weren't fitting together, but he soon solved the problem himself and cheered up.
Activities
Because we hadn't had time last night Elliott had a bath first thing in the morning today. Then we had a lazy morning up until elevenses and then after elevenses we started filming a short film that we're making for the BBC Well Done U competition. We made up a story together called "fixing the whole" about a toy robot that breaks and how it can only be fixed by a very thorough process using lots of different things (science, engineering, exercise, etc) as advised by a mysterious voice on a phone helpline that turns out to be Elliott. Before lunch we filmed all the scenes Elliott starred in and then we had sandwiches for lunch.
After lunch we filmed all the scenes that either we're both in, I'm in or no-one is in and Elliott helped with the filming and focusing shots, etc. He also did some playing imbetween the filming. Then we played some badminton in the garden before we had chicken fajitas for tea. Even though he'd had a bath at the beginning of the day Elliott asked to have another after tea. Finally we read another chapter of the Jack Stalwart book together before bed time and practiced telling the time.

Minions
General
Elliott was good today, especially considering there was a lot of excitement with Harry and Bertie Higgins.
Activities
In the morning we met up with Matt, Harry and Bertie Higgins in Outburst. We started with a game of bowling and then the boys played in the soft play equipment. Before we left they also had a go on the Pac-Man and pinball games machines. Then we set off for Andover cinema stopping at Amesbury for a MacDonalds lunch on the way (Elliott had a chicken nuggets happy meal).
After lunch we drove to Andover cinema where we watched the Minions film with some sweets which everyone enjoyed. After Minions we said our goodbyes and headed home to Granny and Grandpas house for some fish and chips for tea and we read another chapter of the Jack Stalwart book together before Elliott watched some iPad just before bed time.

Moors Valley Park
General
Elliott was very good today.
Activities
We began the morning by getting out his old starter Scaletrix set and playing some Scaletrix. He also made a picture with some mosaic pieces. Then we headed off to Moors Valley Park with Granny and Grandpa. When we arrived we wandered around the wooded area watching people taking part in the Go Ape course there. Then we went to the visitor's centre for lunch and Elliott had some garlic bread with cheese and millionaire shortbread for pudding.
After lunch we followed a Superworm themed nature trail. Elliott told us all about Superworm from the book he has at yours and enjoyed the trail, which was a walk around a lake. We saw ducks, fish, water boatmen, lots of birds, butteflies and moths and lots of insects. After the nature trail he played on the adventure playground. Then we went home and he watched some Officially Amazing and Deadly 60. We had meatballs and spaghetti for tea before bath then we shared reading another chapter of his Jack Stalwart book.

Lego helicopter
General
Elliott was very excited after school today due to it being the summer holidays and was really patient in the car on our way to Granny and Grandpas. He had fish and chips for lunch even though it wasn't a Friday because it was the last day of term.
Activities
We went straight from school to Granny and Grandpas. When we got there Grandpa had bought Elliott a t-shirt and a Lego helicopter and boat set from his latest journey to Malaysia and Elliott immediately got on with making the Lego set. After he'd made the helicopter and boat and told Granny all about school and singing it was tea time and he had toast for tea. Then it was time for his bath, I read him another chapter of his Jack Stalwart book and then he watched the iPad for a special end of term treat before it was time for sleep.

Yellow Submarine
General
Elliott was good after school again.
Activities
Before school ended Year 2 performed the songs they've been learning (themed around the sea) for parents. This was really good and they were all singing enthusiastically. Elliott said he had felt nervous before they started but once they were singing he enjoyed it. My favourite song was "Yellow Submarine" which also included some clapping:
After the singing we went to swimming which was a fun session with floats this week. Then Elliott had a shower after swimming and we came home for tea. We played some Match Attax games and watched some more Deadly 60 before he got changed into pyjamas and I read him another chapter of his Jack Stalwart book. Just before bed time he read the next Jack Stalwart chapter to himself again.

Deadly 60
General
Elliott was very good after school today and focused really well in football training.
Activities
After school we popped home before football training for some tea and Deadly 60 watching. Then it was off to training where they did passing exercises for most of the session and Elliott concentrated really well and started passing quickly and with different parts of both his feet. Then it was home for a quick bath before I read him the next chapter of his Jack Stalwart book and then he read the next chapter to himself before bed time.

Goodbye Truck Festival
General
Elliott was really good again today. He had a good night's sleep at Truck Festival in the tent. We were woken up at about 2am by some particularly enthusiastic singing of Blur's "Song 2" which was playing in a disco somewhere, but he went straight back to sleep and then woke up properly at about 6.45am. He didn't need to go to the toilet during the night either, after we made sure he didn't drink much before bed time and went to the toilet just before going to sleep.
Activities
After we woke up we got up and explored the damp festival site. We were amongst the first awake and we played some football in the empty field with the Steward helping out. After about half an hour the breakfast tent opened and we shared a bacon bap for breakfast before playing more football and then running back to the tents where Harry Jenkins and Andrea were now awake. The boys played together while Andrea went to get breakfast for her and Harry and then we packed everything up. Elliott and Harry were very helpful and helped carry our equipment back to the car as well. Once the car was packed we headed off stopping at Costa Coffee for a ham and cheese toastie and apple juice before dropping Harry off at his house. Elliott, Harry and Jack Jenkins went to a nearby park for 20 minutes before we left and then we collected his school bag, stopped at Sainsburys for some shopping before finally making it home.
After some toast for lunch we unpacked and Elliott played with his mini Star Wars figures and his Ben 10 boat. Then we watched some Deadly 60 together before heading over to pick up his PE kit, football kit and school shoes. After we got back home Elliott played badminton with Andrea while I cooked chicken fajitas for tea. Then we filmed a quick Star Wars story (part one of three parts) using his mini Star Wars figures before bath and bed time.

Truck Festival 2015
General
Elliott was really good at the Festival today and also got on really well with Harry Jenkins.
Activities
On the way to the Festival Elliott had a slice of pepperoni pizza in the car so after we arrived he could concentrate on having fun at the festival. After we arrived at the tents he showed Harry Jenkins how to play with his diablo and they also played some football and some catchy ball:
Then we sat down and watched some of King Pleasure and the Biscuit Boys who played some lounge jazz. Elliott wasn't totally taken with the music, but he showed more interest than in previous years:

They also had fun climbing on a nearby tree. Then we headed in to the festival and the first thing they did was go on some Helter Skelter rides. After the Helter Skelter rides they also went on a roundabout ride which was quite fast, but both of them enjoyed themselves:
Then we headed back to the tents for some more time playing with the diablo and some football before heading to the food area with some packed sandwiches. Then we bought some sweets for pudding:
Next the boys went back on the roundabout ride before we headed back up to the main stage to watch some Public Service Broadcasting. Again Elliott watched some of this, but also played some Minecraft. Then it was time to head back to the tents via various areas and before bed time Elliott played GoGos and Match Attax with Harry Jenkins. At about 8.30pm he stopped playing and he was definitely asleep by 9pm.

Wobbly tooth
General
Elliott was good after school today. We ended up not going swimming due to him having an extremely wobbly tooth and because we went to look round his new class room for Year 3 straight after school (very much like his Year 2 class room but with some art work about Romans). I did add some more Bazuka to his verruca after bath time but only a small drop. Also he came home with his Maths / Reading results in an envelope and he's got a 2a for everything, apart from one Science subject (Life Processes and Living Things) where he got a 3 (which is better than a 2). He got 2as for his reading and writing SAT tests too. So I told him how pleased I was with that and how pleased you'll be too.
Activities
After we looked round his new class room we went shopping on the way home and he was really well behaved. After we got home he was wobbling his tooth and it came out so we found a bag and have put it under his pillow for the tooth fairy. He played some Minecraft on the iPad before doing his homework, which was a word search. We also talked about poems a bit and then he had toast for tea, plus some rocket (as we were having rocket as part of our tea). Then it was bath time and after bath he read his book about dinosaurs before putting his tooth under his pillow and bed time.

Badminton
General
Elliott was good after school today apart from when it was time to go in after playing Badminton when he was whingey because he wanted to beat his "keepie up" shuttlecock record but hadn't managed to, even after an extra 5 minutes. After some time in his room he apologised, explained why he'd been silly and was fine again. I also have a Bazuka treatment for his verruca which we started using yesterday and drys to create a protective film over the verruca for swimming, etc.
Activities
We went straight to swimming after school which he noticeably enjoyed this week and gave his teacher a huge high 5 at the end. Then we came home and had toast for tea before going outside and playing Badminton for quite a while. After we came back in and he'd calmed down he got changed in to his pyjamas (he'd had a shower after swimming) and I read him the first chapter of his new Jack Stalwart book "The mystery of the Mona Lisa (France)". Then he finished reading "Horrid Henry tricks the tooth fairy" and begun reading his next school book "Ronald the tough sheep". Then he tidied up his room really well when asked and it was bed time.

Woodford Park
General
Elliott was good after school today and the athletics coach said behaviour during after school athletics club had really improved.
Activities
After athletics we went to Woodford Park where we had a ham and cheese roll and bear fruit for tea and Elliott played on the play equipment before we headed to football training. They split in to 4 teams at training and played a mini-tournament to prepare for Saturday's tournament. In the first game Elliott played in goal and in the second he played on the right wing, but in both games he seemed a bit disengaged and lackadaisical. However in the third game Jackdip put him up front and he got more involved and scored a goal with a long range shot. He also did a really good turn and dribbled in to the penalty area before shooting well, but unfortunately straight at Finn in goal. After football it was straight home for a quick bath and then bed time.

Harry Smith's birthday party
General
Elliott was mainly good today although after the party he got a little niggley. However his party bag consisted only of sweets for I think he may have had a sugar rush.
Activities
In the morning we had a lazy time watching television and playing with Star Wars toys. We also made a "science car" that we won in the children's tombola at the Summer Fayre yesterday. Elliott helped put this together and when it was finished the cell battery ran from salt water being added to it and made the wheels go round. After we'd made the science car we headed off to Harry's party via Sainsburys where we had ham and cheese toasties for lunch.
When I picked him up after Harry's party he said he'd had a good time and when I got there he was playing tennis with Adam. He said they played lots of outdoor games, especially tennis and he'd enjoyed the barbeque. After we got home we played badminton in the garden for a while where Elliott had fun trying to beat his record for how many times he could bounce the shuttle cock on his racquet. Unfortunately when it was time to go in he got a bit upset and wanted to stay out longer (even though he'd already had an extra 5 minutes). After a small sulk he did cheer up though and then it was bath time followed by him reading more of "Horrid Henry tricks the tooth fairy" and then we talked about puppets for home learning - he found the sock puppet we made when he was younger and we talked about seeing the 3 billy goats gruff puppet show. Then it was bed time.

Hawkedon Summer Fayre
General
Elliott was really good today.
Activities
In the morning we had a lazy time until Granny arrived to help look after him at the Summer Fayre. Before we left for the Fayre we phoned Grandpa in Malaysia on Skype to say hello. Then it was off to the Fayre where Elliott had fun on different stalls including a football skills challenge and a hooking the duck stall. I was helping out on the adult tombola stall but I did get a chance to spend some time with him too which was nice. Charlie, Adam and Kerry were all there too so he enjoyed playing with his friends:
We had a picnic lunch at the Fayre of ham and cheese rolls and Elliott also had some sweets he had won at different stalls and an orange lolly from the ice cream van.
After the Fayre we headed home and Elliott played some Minecraft and played with Star Wars toys. Then it was time for pasta with tomato and ham sauce for tea before bath and bed time. The he read some more of his "Horrid Henry tricks the tooth fairy" book before Andrea's brother Graham Jenkins came over just before bed time to babysit so we could go to a birthday meal in Wokingham.

School report
General
Elliott was really good after school today and came out with his report which was really good. I was especially pleased to read Mrs Davies saying that he'd made lots of progress maturing and controlling his emotions this year and learning to compromise more with his friends. Obviously I was also very proud of the write up about his English, Maths and Science and the effort, contribution and attainment marks for everything.
Activities
After I picked him up we read his report together and I told him how pleased I was and how pleased you were to hear his report was good. He seemed quite modest about it and then started playing Minecraft on the iPad. Then we headed in to town where we brought a new digital watch with stopwatch with the pocket money he's been saving and had a celebratory ham and cheese toastie for tea at Costa Coffee. After we got home he had a bath with his new watch on as it's water resistant and then he read some of his new "Horrid Henry tricks the tooth fairy" school book. Then he watched some iPad before bed time.
